Its a friend of the family so I didn't get screwed. Not like thats the best explaination why I didn't get screwed but I had to get it towed pretty far to the shop I had it repaired at.

My estimate was 350+towing, which would probobly be about 420 or so.

The distriutor for my car is around $140 if I bought it myself. They got it so it was more and labor plus towing. I don't like the feeling of thinking I got riped off Since its my pops friend I can't make a ballpean Hammer appearance ya know.

Well, I'm down South, so there is a shadetree mechanic on every corner.

I have a good friend that is a mechanic and he has towed some vehicles for me in the past. He never charged me for the tow. I asked him why he didn't charge me and he said that if he was doing the work on the car, he wouldn't charge me for towing. I don't know if that is common practice but it must be around here.

I don't really know what a good price would be for what you had done but $590 just seems a bit extreme.
