I was watching BET the other night waiting for Comedy Showcase to come on. Good lord, BET has fine ladies on it .
Ahem.
Anyways, a debate was on discussing if an attack on Afghanistan was 'our' war, meaning African-Americans. One gentleman was a journalist from Washington, and his view was that we are all Americans, terrorists don't care what the skin tone of the people they killed were. If you leave the U.S, you are an American. Period.
Cool.
The woman who was debating against him, was trying to state that this was not a war for Africans or Hispanics, because of the way minorities have been treated in the U.S. At that very moment I was thinking, hardly anywhere else in the world are people allowed to express their views so freely, and yet she still condemns the very country that allows her this freedom.
It was the WACKEST debate I ever seen. How can this 300 lb defensive tackle-looking woman state that this is not a war for minorities? Does the minority list include white women, because they are historically minorites, too.
Just out of curiosity, I did a search comparison on the word 'racism' vs the word 'aerobic' on this site. 'Aerobic' beats out 'racism'....by 14 more words, a very small margin.

Now, I'm not trying to instigate anything. It's just as a person who grew up in a SERIOUSLY multi-cultural family ( my family is like the United Nations) I have a hard time seeing the differance between race..I should say tribes, we are all human.

Anyways, back to studying cell biology.

Any black or hispanic person (espescially black) who believes that they are not 100% free needs to be on the first line of attack on afghans. Hispanics are less free I must admit because they are not born here and are considered aliens and not citizens. It sickens me to see them not have the full rights, Because My uncle married the sweetest woman I know and she's columbian. She is not an american citizen, just a Legal Alien. It hurts Me to see her not have the same rights as me. but black people need to get their heads outtof their asses. They are not slaves any more.

BET is not the place to watch political debates IMO. Tell that fat pig that black and hispanic people died on Sept 11th. Some people are so ignorant, why the hell do we give them airtime. This can be seen as a racist statement. You insinuate that BET (namely black people) have nothing intellectual worth listening to. That is definitely not true.

Some cultures value learning and academic achievement, while others do not.
Some cultures value parenthood whiel others do not.
Some cultures value monogamy and some do not.

That was not what I intended 2thick. I just don't take BET very seriously that's all. So you can say I'm biased towards BET, but I also think MTV is a joke too.

True that may be, But in the U.S.A. the blacks that are here are not immigrants. There are a few, but the few that are, probably aren't complaining. That is what I meant furious. the blacks that are here are "Citizens" and have all of there rights and there little race wild card. PISSES ME OFF.

I would think that as a Jew you would be more tolerant but you seem worse than any other modern racist or white supremacist.

No one in my family who is African has ever used the race card. that is not honorable. don't let the cries of a few people taint your image of a whole part of American culture.
I feel you, though. I HATE the race card, it pisses me off.
