I have been coming to this board for a couple years now and I never found out the whole karma thing and what the stars mean under your name---today when I looked at my name there are 5 stars blinking underneath my name--what does it mean?

the 5 flashing stars are because you are platinum.

Karma is what you get when someone approves of your posts. It leads to those green dots under your name.

Karma is the process whereby other members can "agree" {good} or "disagree" {bad} with your posts. Lots of agreements can increase your karmic value, thus the green dots under your name.
