Plowing over millions of acres of wetlands for daddy's development friends
Lifting pollution restrictions
Screwing the steel workers by caving to European pressure

gotmilk said:Oh no...not drilling near animals, not that!?!?!
I'm not talking about Alaska, I am talking about the Bluffs section of Utah where a large donor to Bush's campaign was given a waiver to drill in a formerly protected area.[/b]
We have nine years of oil reserves in the US now...and we control the oil in Iraq. The drilling in Utah and Alaska is nothing more than a greedy crook trying to make his Daddy's oil friends wealthier.
God Forbid humans have jobs, huh??
Ha! Daddy Bush forms NAFTA and bugs Clinton to sign it into law...then kills the jobs here. 30,000 jobs left Maine for foreign soil thanks to Bush's Dad...and those assclowns celebrated by throwing a party in Washington DC with Vincente Fox. Do you like job growth that includes destroying the environtment?
I guess they are plowing these wetlands all for fun, right? Aren't the Democrats bitching that we don't have jobs?? Then they bitch when companies make jobs, because it is not the "jobs" they desire. Hypocrites.
Not for fun....for Daddy's butt buddy in Louisianna who turned a widelife refuge into a plowed field....all so that Daddy's friend can make money. The jobs are temporary construction jobs....again.....another BS scam where Bush lifts a protected area so that a friend of the family can profit.
Can you show us how this has harmed us?
Urbanization of a wet land that was plowed under for daddy and his friends wallets? Oh yeahhh...that was really needed.
The US steelworkers have been screwed for years, thanks to their heavy union status. I guess you could care less that paying more for steel has the externality of driving up the cost of all steel utilizing industries. Now that countries such as China are heavy buyers of steel, our industry has less ability to compete in the steel market. You also need to thank those environmental protections for the high costs of steel in the US, which add to our disadvantage in competition.
So...when the European Union threatens tariffs on US orange juice...we should be happy that Bush sold out the Steel workers up North to save Jeb's ass in Florida...a state Bush needs to win again. Should we allow inferior steel from foreign countries to be cheaper than our home made stuff? Are you the clown whinning about job creation but you could care less that our President hosed American steel workers for the sake of saving his brother? I didn't realize the US was more concerned about foreign economies before our own.

"greedy crook"...I love the lingo of leftists. So, since we and European nations are oil dependant, this oil has no value to anyone save the "greedy crook"? He is not going to sell it to individuals who want and need oil, he is stashing it away for himself? People bitch when the price of oil goes up and bitch when we attempt to increase our supply.
"kills the jobs"...LOL. I am sure you realize that jobs have been leaving the US for 50+ years, right?
Please tell us the unemployment rate of European countries, those countries which "care" for their environment more than we "care" for ours? Are we to live as Aborigines, living "off of the land"? Are we never to search for resources which create our way of life, a way of life which has benefited more individuals than any primitive culture ever could accomplish?
How does a man make money, if no one wants to purchase his service or product? Sorry, but I was born and raised in LA; where I lived was wetlands prior to my birth. My father hunted on the land when he was a child, and later bought a house in the developed area. So, while one man profited monetarily from his efforts, others, such as my family and friends profited off of the use of this project.
Why should a man not be rewarded monetarily for his efforts, especially efforts that are highly desired?? Man needs resources to survive. I already showed you that, while you may think it unnecessary, others have uses for such resources. A good definition of an environmentalist is: one who already has his cabin in the woods.
You really don't have a clue about basic economics, do you? Bush screwed other steel-USING industries by placing steel tariffs on imported steel. Do you think that the US steel industry should be protected at the expense of other industries?? The steel industry is caught between two problems: itself and government. It itself is burdened by unions which impose high costs onto the industry, forcing its prices to be uncompetitive AND the environmental regulations imposed by government, which also increase the end product's costs. We want high wages, job protection and pristine lands.
I would like to shit gold, but I know it ain't gonna happen.

Removing protected restrictions on areas so that Daddy's friends can make more money hardly deserves to be described as "job growth".
And the fool described me as a leftest....yet...I voted for Bush over Gore. Maybe he should learn more about what I was referring to before typing a foolish response that stinks of the same Bushbarian dicktatership we are now experiencing.
I guess it is ok for Daddy's friends to profit....![]()

Sadly, sometimes it seems that some people like to argue for the sake of argument and that really seems to draw some deep divisions here.
Let's all try to respect each other more.
