Estrogen and finasteride

What I have noticed and my thoughts. Please comment if you will.

Many factors here but lets just deal with the basics. I have noticed, since I have been taking finasteride (several years) that gyno has become an issue every time I run a cycle (always includes test)

I know that propecia lowers DHT and DHT controls Esto but at such a small dose (1mg ED) I would not have thought that this would be an issue. I know that my age (40) has allot to do with it, because years ago test doses were not an issue, now they are.

For those of you who use finasteride, have you noticed any esto or gyno issues. If so please explain...

Hmmm interesting...I've been on 1mg since 1997 and dont feel I've had an issue...
However...I did get gyno once and had surgery in 2001...after a stupid cycle of test suspension...it came on fast... So I guess it would be tough for me to say that it was cased by the fiinasteride as I never felt anything in the first 4+ yrs pre surgery and never since. I always have used a test base.... I'm 38

I know that propecia lowers dihydrotestosterone and DHT controls Esto but at such a small dose (1mg ED) I would not have thought that this would be an issue. I know that my age (40) has allot to do with it, because years ago test doses were not an issue, now they are.

Well it is known that increased progesterone inhibits the conversion of testosterone to DHT very similar to Propecia. Many people take pregnenolone to capture the same effect although it's weaker than Propecia.

Conversly... I'm not 100% sure about this but lowering DHT may then increase progesterone. So Propecia may be inducing progesterone/prolactin based gyno instead rather than estrogen based.
