essential shopping list...trader joe's

I'm taking my first shopping trip to the local Trader Joe's today at lunch...any suggestions on what I shouldn't leave without?? I know they have such cool stuff there!

Thanks for your suggestions!

This probably isn't exactly what you're referring to, but their vitamins are top-quality and super cheap compared to the name brands like TwinLab, etc. You might want to pick up some of the "No Iron Multi-Vitamin & Mineral Antioxidant" formula; it's got a reddish label w/ gold trim. Very good blend, and it's only like $7.99. Also, get some Vit. C and some extra E while you're at it!

frozen salmon patties (ive made these for you)
tons of different frozen fish there also
see if they have soy grits also. good protein count on those....DC recommended.
maybe they have a good deal on ultra flax cereal too.
if you need bars get promax lean protein ones there. they should be pretty cheap. :)

Oh yeah, that reminds me... if you're tempted to get the Health from the Sun bottled flaxseed oil they carry, don't do it. I've gotten several bottles from different stores, and the oil is always rancid and very fishy smelling. (Even though it's supposed to be stabilized so no refrigeration is necessary, etc.)

I go there once a week for the TJ's brand FF Cottage Cheese (No shitty additives as in other FF varieties) and TJ's brand FF Cheddar and Jalapeno Jack Cheese. They also have LaTortilla low carb tortillas but I buy mine elswhere.

And if your doing a CKD, get the Volpii Pepperoni and/or salamie, its da bes.

wow! my cereal is only $1.99 vs. the $ 3.79 at the grocery store! :D

there was way too much good stuff to check out in less than an hour (I was on my lunch break).

bignate...looks like you'll be having at least one good dinner this week--I got some really good stuff! Yaaay!

wow, the poop cereal was only 1.99?? yaaaayy! ;)

maybe i can make some of my food in my turbo cooker too!!! and you can use your foreman grill. all ready in 12 minutes flat!

hehehehe.

I felt like a shark in a feeding frenzy...so I didn't remember to check for soy grits...I'll have to look next time. I wasn't sure which salmon patties you got before and my freezer is packed so I skipped that. I got some Anti-Oxidant vitamins and chewable c--just for fun! low carb bread, wheat pasta, chili verde, chunky salsa, lots of cappiccino protein drinks (yummmmm) and a few protein bars too. wheat pretzels, sushi (which I ate for lunch) and a little something extra for you...but you'll have to wait till I give it to you to find out what it is.

I bought some of those super effective bran muffins too...

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Get a room, you crazy turbo cooking, grilling kids. ;)

Nonerz, TJ's is quite overwhelming, isn't it? I could disappear in there for hours looking at exotic foods. Rock bottom prices on supplements to boot, as fogg noted. Their whole wheat pasta is some of the best stuff I've ever tasted this side of Italy - it's very meaty and substantial. Good choice.

I'm trying to figure out what I can make with my TJ purchases and
BROCCOLLI! Maybe some chicken and wheat pasta with brocc? hmmmm....

Wasabi mayo - it's sooo good! Made with canola oil too!

They also have chicken chorizo - very low carb and low fat. Pick up the turkey anduille (sp?) sausage too.

And for a treat, the australian licorice is awesome - I like the red better than the black. Soon as I'm done dieting, I'm gonna pick up a tub.

good prices on there fish there? how about steak? I just found out there's one not to far from me I am gonna be hitting this place up, I gonna definetly get some poop cereal.

poop cereal = "Ultra Flax"...by "Back to Nature":lmao:

works GREAT! :D

they also carry "fizzy vitamin packets" in different flavors. a co-worker of mine turned me on to them...you open the single serving packet and pour it in a glass of water. it automatically dissolves and the strawberry one is REALLY good! it has a boost of vitamin c and other stuff, depending on what kind you get...
...a nice pick me up!

I got there multi vit, some chicken tortallia's, some flax oil, extra virgin olive oil is cheap there . Also got some egg whites, and soy chips. those c chicken torti's are awesome. man I can't spell
