Ephedrine to be made illegal

From what I have heard any and all products that contain Ephedrine will now or is going to be banned, including diet drugs and otc diet pills.

Now as for something like Xenadryne, I don't think we have to worry as it contains Ma Hung which is standerdized for 6% ephedrine. So it dosen't actually contain the drug ephedrine.

But, the FDA and DEA will probably see things differently. All this because 80 people have died over the years using the stuff wrong.

I wonder when they will pull aspirin or ibuprofen.

I am beginning to really hate the cocksuckers think it is their ordained right to regulate my life into compliance and non existence.

Viva La Resistance

This is a crock of shit, I don't think it will go over too well with the public if they banned Xenedrine or Hydroxycut

Well they banned renewtrient cause a drug company wanted exclusive rights to the stuff to sell it as prescription only and that stuff really worked for getting to sleep and making sex wilder and longer than shit.

I am going to stock up on Xenydrine. I wish I could find renewtrient as well.

They FUCKING BETTER NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goddamn, we do not have control of our own country even...it's corporations+government...viva la resistance is right Chesty.

THE DRUG COMPANY/FDA COLLUSION MONOPLY HAS TO BE STOPPED!!! LETS START BY BLOWING UP SEVERAL PHARMCO.S!!!

They have these scares every year it seems. Every year they talk about banning it and guess what? THEY NEVER SEEM TO ACCOMPLISH SHIT! It ain't goin anywhere any time soon.

Freak, you are so very correct.
I have heard this scare at least 2 other times going back to 1995.and nada....
I could sware that its the "drine" companys themselfs starting this crap. Now watch your e-mail. soo we will see all these "deals" on it....................
DONT FALL FOR THE HYPE. Its still causes fewer deaths then say vending machines.....
POON DADDY LOVES "DRINE" BY THE WAY !!!!!!!!!!!

The last news show I saw...last week sometime stated that Ephedrine was not going to be pulled by the FDA, but will be banned by the NCAA....We'll see I guess....

Ephedrine has been on the banned list of the NCAA for a few years now.

I read somewhere that Texas is making companies put the FDA hotline number on products that contain ephedrine.

lol @ your avatar latimer

too many people depend on ephedrine to have a decent workout anyways. i remember reading a thread on here a while ago asking who uses ephedrine before a workout and a whole shitload of people responded saying that they hit up some ephedrine before every single workout because it gets them amped up and then they go into how they try to lift without taking the stuff and they have horrible workouts. man....fuck that. if you can't go into the gym just in a normal state of mind and not be completely amped up off of some form of caffeine you need to reevaluate what you're doing. about the only thing you should be remotely dependent on before a workout is some decent food about an hour before you go in. that and maybe some alvin and the chipmunks cranked up on your headphones.

They have been saying this for years now!!! Just another way of getting us to go out and buy 20 bottles of it!!! ;)

I agree. I think the only thing that will happen is the FDA will lower the acceptable mg down to 18 mg per caplet. This will mean you will just have to take more.

That makes sense. lets ban this but keep smoking legal. Where smoking kills hundreds of thousands of people each year.

who has died from using ephedrine?
An Analysis of the 22 Deaths Reported to FDA as Possibly Linked
to the Consumption of Dietary Supplements Containing Ephedrine Alkaloids

Issue: Whether dietary supplements containing ephedrine alkaloids played a causative role in any of the 22 deaths reported in adverse event reports (AERs) to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Findings: The 22 AERs do not show any consistency of clinical or pathologic features nor do they show that exposure to ephedrine alkaloids was a contributing or causative factor in any of the deaths.

Methodology: Dr. Grover M. Hutchins, member of the Ephedra Education Council (EEC) Expert Panel, reviewed the 22 AERs to determine whether the consumption of ephedrine alkaloids may have played a causative role in any of the deaths. (Dr. Hutchins’ detailed analysis of the deaths appears in his EEC statement.) In conducting his review, Dr. Hutchins looked for the most likely cause or a likely differential diagnosis of the cause of the individual’s event. He used his training and experience in correlating clinical and pathologic information derived from autopsies to develop his opinions on causation relating to the AERs.

In examining the likelihood of any causative role of ephedrine alkaloids in the deaths, Dr. Hutchins considered the 22 AER deaths as a whole to see whether there was a likely and consistent pathogenic process that could account for the events. For example, there are a number of conditions where exposure to an environmental or chemical agent may lead to well-characterized pathologies, including asbestos, tobacco smoke, coal dust, and fenfluramine. In reviewing the 22 AERs, Dr. Hutchins was seeking evidence for the existence of a similar coherent pathogenetic explanation for the deaths.

It should be noted that of the 22 AERs, six were only one to two pages long. In addition, autopsies were performed in only 13 of the cases, not performed in seven, and it is unknown whether they were performed in two. Twelve cases were known to have been exposed to ephedrine alkaloids; it is not known whether the remaining 10 were exposed. Toxicology reports were completed in 14 of the cases, with only four of the cases testing positive for ephedrine alkaloids.

Analysis: Dr. Hutchins determined upon his review of the 22 AERs that:

Four of the deaths are entirely attributable to a structural abnormality of the heart that had arisen during the formation of the heart.
Three of the deaths were the consequence of attempts at rapid weight loss by extreme fasting and exercise (e.g., exercise wearing a rubber suit and sweat suit which led to hyperthermia).
Three of the deaths were explained by coronary artery atherosclerosis.
Two of the deaths occurred in persons found to have myocarditis, or inflammation of the muscular walls of the heart.
Two of the deaths were caused by dissections of the aorta.
Four of the deaths were the result of cerebral vascular disease.
Two of the deaths were miscellaneous events, including the death of a 5-day-old infant from necrotizing enterocolitis and the death of a female after a short course of flu-like illness, possibly related to pulmonary or cardiac disease.
Two AERs had no explanation for death, which is consistent with general experience in death investigation.
Conclusion: The available evidence indicates that exposure to ephedrine alkaloids was not a contributing or causative factor in any of the 22 reported deaths.

Dr. Hutchins concluded that the 22 AERs he reviewed do not show any consistency of clinical or pathologic features or show that exposure to ephedrine alkaloids was a contributing or causative factor in the deaths. Dr. Hutchins stated that in only the two unexplained deaths could ephedrine alkaloids be a speculative explanation for the deaths. However, Dr. Hutchins noted that the occurrence of two unexplained deaths from a total of 22 unexpected deaths is consistent with general experience in death investigation.

Ephedrine is legitimately used as an OTC medicine for asthma. That means those Primotene tablets will be illegal as well.

well that means they will have to outlaw nasal inhalers also, but I think the main reason they are banning it, is because it is the main ingredient to process crystal meth and the cheap shit crank.................its all bullshit, you think by now the government would realize that the war on drugs will never workout..........but hell they cant legalize drugs because they would be shooting themselves in the foot..........since they distribute, bust and then redistribute the drugs out there!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm . . . I may move to Canada if they keep putting the strangle hold on us.

Agree with chesty : "Viva La Resistance"

80 morons we did not need in the first place.

People who are dumb enough to not follow directions have nothing to bitch about.

I think that says a lot about this country.

YOU CAN NOT LEGISLATE INTELLIGENCE, HOWEVER YOU CAN LEGISLATE IGNORANCE! LOOK AT THE KIDS TODAY AND THE SCHOOLS AND YOU GET THE IDEA.

Shit for brains is what the Government wants and needs.
