Ephedra's illegal in the UK... How effective is Sida Cordifolia?

I was just wondering because I believe it to contain 1% ephedra?

Products I have seen require you to take a tablet first thing in the morning, others you need two a day.

Useful for Fat burning?

For an effective dose you would need to ingest 2500mg of Sida Cordifolia around 2-3 times per day, just to get the 25mg of Ephedrine per dose. That sounds like a lot and may carry plenty of negative side effects along with it.

My mate brought me round a bottle today that he bought for energy before the gym.

INGREDIENTS PER 2 TABLETS:
SIDA CORDIFOLIA EXTRACT...300MG
STANDARDIZED AT 8% ALKALOIDS

What does this mean? 8% is Ephedra?

The bottle also states a recommended dosage

DOSAGE:
1 TABLET TO BE TAKEN TWICE A DAY FOR THE FIRST WEEK
2 TABLETS TWICE A DAY THEREAFTER
