ephedra + creatine = dumb?

Okay so it is debatable whether or not you should take caffeine with creatine as some say the caffeine (being a diuretic) is just going to empty your muscles of all the water the creatine is trying to store in them.

So I'm going to get some straight ephedra to wean myself off the ECA and take creatine with it. Now the ephedra isn't too much of a diuretic is it? Taking it with the creatine is going to be cool right? Note that I *do* want the water weight gain from the creatine. thanks for any input on this...
 
2ordinary, I'm not sure where you heard this, but it gave me a good chuckle. ECA+creatine is perfectly fine... I've been doing them both every day for years. Not every day, but close to it, sometimes I'll take ECA breaks, not creatine breaks, though. If you're worried about 'losing water', drink more. When you're on ECA you should drink more, when you're on creatine you should drink that much more.

Note that storing a little extra water isn't the primary mechanism by which creatine enhances your body's athletic abilities.

I've read about caffeine negating the effects of creatine at numerous sites around the web: "Caffeine consumption negated the physical benefit observed in the creatine group. "

This comes from:
Vandenberghe K, Gillis N, Van Leemputte M, Van Hecke P, Vanstapel F, Hespel P. (February 1996) Caffeine counteracts the ergogenic action of muscle creatine loading. Journal of Applied Physiology Volume 80:2: pages 452-457.

But then again, I've heard that it's perfectly fine to take them together from other people/websites as well. Anyway, I got some plain old ephedra and am going to take that with my creatine for a while. But taking ECA+creatine may very well work too but I am going to transition into a bulking stage anyway so it's all good. Thanks for the info. later bro
 
Its simple really, You just cant take them "together" as in at the same time.
I wake up at 4:30am, take my ECA.
at 7:30am I take 5 grams of creatine
at 8am I eat breakfast
 
2ordinary: your question is extremely common and it's good that you found a study to support the claim. But be an informed consumer, that study is dated all the way back to 96 making it no longer valid and unquestionably expired. I can give 100 recent studies that negate this claim. So go ahead, combine the two. You won't find a synergy, but you should receive results. Good luck!
