Embedding the identification/location microchip worms its way here....

The cattle industry is claiming a recent glut of cattle thefts.

So the USDA is responding by requiring microchips on all cattle by 2009.

How much further behind can requiring microchips on people be?


I'd rather move that have everyones movements being tracked via satellite.

Crime is a problem...no doubt.

Privacy is of even greater importance to some.

This isn't hysteria here. The USDA is requiring that all cattle be micro chipped by 2009.

We routinely execute and eat cows. Hopefully cannabalism is far behind.

The government would probably either stick tracker chips in driver's licenses or other mandated ID's, then turn around and make you a criminal or deny you 'benefits' like health care if you do not have the ID. They would also probably only stick the chips in people on some kind of 'registry' such as child molesters and sex offenders. Slowly the types of 'criminals' on the registries will increase, but they will always have to be criminals that get dehumanized and are hated by society at large. The government will have to somehow rationalize to people that these chips are for the greater good so the majority can suppress the minority by democratic process.
