im doing some research for a poem for my kids for 2006 Elocution and Shel Silverstein is a poet they recommend... well look at this!

ummmm how do you explain this to a 9 yr old when you are trying to research poems? I'm quite taken aback by this esp beings this poet is really high on the list for children. Not a good mix IMO. Maybe im going overboard.. but when im doing research and have my daughter reading all the works of him and she reads crap about playboy magazine etc.. not a good thing.

I thought everyone knew that Shel Silverstein, who was an excellent writer for children, also wrote in other "adult" genres. That doesn't change anything about his work for children.
