elevated CK? anyone know anything about this or have this?

I've had an elevated CK level for about a year now. I'm finding out I have some kind of neuromuscular disorder but the doctors haven't exactly pinpointed what it is yet. I've been told that the normal treatment for this is usually to be put on steroids. Does anyone know what I might get prescribed by the doc? Would it be roids that could actually build muscle, or some other kind like prednisone or something like that?

Elevated CK is expected after heavy training, did you ever take your test after some rest? Since you are under medical supervision, it´s hard to believe they would overlook this fact.Since you can train, it is unlike that it would be some serious dystrophy like Duchenne, maybe is a late-onset , mild kind of dystrophy.
Steroids used to treat dystrophys are corticosteroids, not anabolics, and most people use them only to delay Duchenne´s dystrophy progression, I´m not sure if they are usefull in other forms.
