Elbow trouble

Ok, this is really starting to piss me off and I don't know what to do. About 5 months ago, I started experiencing some dull pain in my left elbow when working out. Sometimes I would feel it up into my shoulder as well, sometimes my wrist would hurt, but mostly concentrated around my entire elbow. I worked through it, and after a while it went away.

So I just started my summer job last week, and I have to bundle up journals on a machine, which I have to slide the 60 pound stacks across a flat surface using my left arm, pushing palm against the stack. Now the pain is back, and worse than ever. When working out, I don't notice it at first, then something seems to trigger it. It's hardly noticeable at first and gets to the point I can barely lift my water bottle to my mouth. It seems to kick in when I'm doing some sort of fly movement with a decent amount of weight, and long extensions on bicep work.

From this I'm gathering that I'm putting too much stress on my elbow. Work I can do nothing about, but in the gym should I go light on movements I think may affect it? Would this be a tendon problem? Would an elbow brace help at all?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've debated seeking professional help, but being a student with limited insurance, that's my last resort. Thanks in advance!
