Bud, there's nothing ECA or xCA is going to do to keep gains post-cycle. It might give you a little more energy so you feel like you can still lift as much (if you weren't using it during your cycle), but that's about it. You keep gains by cycling properly and using the proper ancillaries when you come off. And, no, Ephedra-free products will not give you the same boost in energy as those that do contain Ephedra/Ephedrine HCL.
