how do you set up a secure credit card processing system on ebay to sell your stuff. my ebay store takes paypal, but for cc orders i have to contact the person and get their cc number by phone or email then process it with my POS terminal. i've seen so many other stores link up their ebay items to a secure online cc processor. is that something that can be easily done?

This is from paypal's site

Add PayPal to Your Auction

Get paid faster when you let your buyers know that you accept credit cards through PayPal by including a PayPal logo in your listing.

I could swear that you just use paypal to process your cc orders.

I have no freaking idea. I have a paypal link on mine, and if they want to use there credit card they can. I guess perhaps your talking about someone that doesn't have a paypal acct. I give them two options, paypal or money order. I sell mostly larger items and very few of them so I dont need a lot of payment options. I prefer cashiers checks anyways, $40.00 for $1600.00 payment is bullshit.

You can just find a company that will do it for you online. They will set up a link for you, do all of the credit card processing, and give you a check/telegraphic transfer every month. They'll take an extra cut in addition to the 2% visa / mastercard charge. There's an extra charge for American Express. You can also ask them to do fraud protection.

The other option is to do it through a bank you know. That may save you some money, but you need to look at the pros and cons of any credit card processor. You probably need to be a limited liability company for a local bank to do it. Depending on the bank, you may need to set up the billing web form yourself.
