Easier to make or buy?

Have been doing some research into homebrewing, and I was wondering what the pro's and cons were to making the stuff myself as opposed to buying it one cycle at a time. I am not necessarily trying to start up a lab or anything, more or less for personal use.

Well, It's a lot cheaper to make it, but you risk customs snatching it if it's from overseas and it takes some time and effort to make it.

It is easier and more convenient with less risk to buy domestic if you can afford it.
