EAS contestants + Juice = ???

I had an interesting debate today at work and wanted to get some opinions on it.

Some friend sand I were talking about lifting when the topic of the EAS body for life challenge came up (One of the guys I work with is in it right now). One c-worker was saying that he saw pictures of the former champions and that they looked like they used steroids. I said that I didn't think they did and that it was mainly a lot of fat loss bringing out their definition. The conversation went on along these lines with this friend insisting they were juicing. I started explaining that they were drug tested (not that there aren't ways around that), but besides the point they were out of shape, weak slobs and that using the gear at that point wouldn't be very effective since they were beginners who hadn't lifted in years (and not seriously probably ever).

Then I started thinking that without the gear they showed damn good gains and obviously worked their asses off to get in shape. If they were able to make that big of a jump in several months of training natural then they would have made even better gains with the gear. The question I have now is how much better would they have gotten? And going along this line of thinking is it that unlikely that some of the EAS contestants were juiced up?

I know the basic rules are that you try to reach your natural potential then use the gear and that if you're an out of shape guy who's rathe rweak then it's a waste of juice, but is this really true? Obviously there would be some gains made with it even by the people in the EAS contest in their pre-contest mode and if they looked that good when they finished up then it's likely they would have been much better on a good stack. This got me thinking. Is what we've all thought a little misleading. If a guy who can only bench 135 for reps and is fat and out of shape can turn his physique around that fast and increase his strength well naturally then it only goes to reason that the same out of shape slob could get on juice and make damn good gains. Maybe we've got the wrong conceptions due to the only fat slobs that i've heard of using juice are the ones undisciplined enought to train hard, diet strictly and cycle right so they end up coming off the cycle looking like crap anyways and say it didn't work for them, but if a guy like the EAS champs tried it then what kind of results would we see?

Sorry to ramble, but I was thinking about this all day long and was curious as to what you guys would say. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Thousands of people join the contest and Bill gets to pick from the best genetics. Only 10 people out of the amount they draw from are going to make it. I.E. look at Lee Priest in the off season.. A lot of them seem to fail the lie detector even though they pass the drug test. Guilty conscious? I think they are guilty of using cutting drugs and that effects the lie detector. Remember a 16" arm cut looks bigger than an 18" arm uncut.
