Dying my hair

®ª†

New member
alrighty ... I'm growing out my hair to about 2-3 inches and I'm thinking about dying it. Since I have dark brown/black hair, what is the best stuff to lighten it to a medium brown? Most other people I know who's hair is very much like mine, have had their hair turn an ugly orange when they bleach it. What do y'all suggest?

Dye it gray and go as Wodin.

If youy hair leans to the red hued browns, then you need to use dyes with ash in them. Which counteracts the reddness/orange.

Oh yeah, and also, you may have to do a double stage job. Where you bleach it out real light, then dye it again with the color you want.

A professional bleaching wouldn't turn you orange-- if you got brassy orange tones they'd just throw some blue stuff in there to tone it down and all would be well. If you want your color to look good, go to a pro. Then if they goof it up and it's not how you want it, they'll fix it. If you screw it up on your own you're just f'ed. :)

Good idea ... but I'm poor :( :)

You can go somewhere cheap! At least they'll know what they're doing. It's always scary to go lighter on your own. I've been known to throw darker colors into my hair on my own but if I'm going to be using bleach, I'd rather save up a bit and get it done right that look goofy after a botched-color.
