DVD to DivX file

p0ink or anyone else knowledgeable about this topic:

Do any of you guys know of a simple procedure for ripping a dvd into a divx file (or xvid or any good compressed format) ? Heck I'm even willing to do it uncompressed, I just want to have it be on my computer and playable!

I know how to make dvd copies, but I want to have these files on my computer and not use dvds instead.

Also, can I just copy the .vob files off of the dvd and convert/compress them into divx later?

i havent used it, but if it is anything like their other products, it has to be gold.

are you looking to do anything special with these...or do you just want them on your computer for some reason?

Thanks!
hmm, luckily there is a 21 day trial period, lol.

Its a TV series i'm copying. I just want to be able to view them on my computer, without having to use dvds. :)

Best one I've found and I've tried them all, no sync problems, PLUS you can take ANY video file and convert it to a different one.

I Really like being able to take a downloaded video file(divx or whatever) and being able to re encode it and shrink it down to fit on my pocket pc.

And I haven't had any copy protections issues either.

AND its really fast.

I've been encoding movies to divx so I can fit multiple movies (example Rocky I-V) onto a single dvd, then watch them on a Divx certified DVD player.
