i have mostly divx for my computer, and a few dvd's. i use IRC to get my divx movies. I don't mind watching them on my computer. I'll type out my list real quick

Divx is still operational??

How do you use your Divx?? I have one also but thought that the movies quit playing long ago.. I have over 150 movies and havent watch vhs since the day I brought my first dvd player home.
 
Kez, they're talking about illegal movies...that are compressed in a file format called DiVX ;). Not that crappy format Circuit City was pushing for, where you pay like $6 for the DVD, then once you put it in your player you can watch it for up to 2 days. Then pay each time you watch it.


The DiVX codec they're talking about is a hacked mpg4 codec, which the people who "hacked" it named it DiVX to "make fun" of the failed technology that you're talking about. It allows large files to be compressed, while retaining a large ammount of their detail, in small sizes.
 
So far I have about 200+ DVDs. If you dont want to wait for some of the newer movies to be released you can always order then from japan or china. they are in 5.1 and in letterbox. most of them have subtitles that can be turned off and the movies are not dubed in english they are in english. For example I have the complete godfather collection, star wars, and indiana jones collections. I remember when I first got my DVD player and bestbuy only had a push cart holding what little DVDs available at teh time.
