ducati monster 750

go for it. If you need insurance look into insuring it with Motorcycle services:) Its a insurance company that does just motorcycles. There main customers are ones with ducati's

anyone ridden one? my last bike was a zx6r so im wonderin if i might get a bit bored on the monster. how do they compare to spors bikes speed wise?

dave.

Ok let me shed some light. I owned a few bikes and currently pilot the CBR1100XX super blackbird, in black ofcourse:D.

Now to the question at hand. It's a good bike for what it is and i was looking at it as well. Here is why i did not buy it.

1. Horrible maintenance when it come to valve adjustments intervals and the actuall labor.
2. Reliability, not exactly known as the most reliable motorcycle.
3. Performance is nothing spectacular on it's v-twin.
4. Bike is waaaaayyyyyy overpriced for what you get.
5. Maintenance is wwwwaayyyyyy overpriced as well.

So that being said, unless you really like the name, go for it. If you are more into the bikes styling and not neccessarily the brand go to

And look at the suzuki SV650. It's an extremly popular bike all over the world. Will likely outperform the monster, is reliable and most importantly FUN FUN FUN with TONS or aftermarket parts for speed and looks. Oh and i think you will find the styling very, very similar.

Well have him look at the sv650 and the sv650S. I think the SV650 is the closer look a like to the Monster. Heh i bever got the whole ducati thing. Not a single one of their bikes outperforms the Japanese bikes in their classes in any way, from performance to reliability to maintenance.

SV650. in yellow, just like the monster.

Hell i really prefer the suzuki.

I own the 900.

It's nice, not super fast, but not too bad in handling.

PM me if you want to buy it cheap.

Service here near SF is not pricey, but we have two dealers and three ducati shops in the area to keep prices down.

Parts are pricey.

Labor is just as cheap for my 'Busa.

Valve adjustments are where ducati slips behind the Nip bikes.
