Drugs in UK?

Dino Strong

New member
My friend is going to England for spring break and asked me if I knew of the availability of drugs there. I know they have move relaxed drug laws but am not sure if drugs, both bodybuilding recreational, are available there. I know Paul Borresen said that GHB was available there in his book "Anabolic edge" but I don't know if the laws have changed since that book was published. What about other bodybuilding products? Is anything available in a pharmacy? What about recreational drugs? Do you need a script for painkillers? I remember hearing about some sort of mushroom tea or something that you can buy in England. Are there any boardmembers from the UK or maybe someone who has visited the country that has some insight?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,

hey,

U cnt get over the counter aas. i think we can have aas for personal use but not for intention of selling.
Also Uk is much more expensive than getting the gears in US.

what kind of aas r u luking at?

Nothing along those lines is available otc, but the UK is CHEAPER than the US as is the rest of Europe, certainly not more expensive!

Re painkillers: Ibuprofen 400mg are otc. but 800mg would need a scrip. Paracetamol and codeine is otc.

Recreational drugs like hash or mj are illegal but easily obtainable and, apparently, often ignored if you do happen to get stopped by the police though they might confiscate. Anything stronger is illegal but available with contacts and not viewed as acceptable by the police.

AAS are completely legal for personal use but illegal to sell. So, you can buy them and bring them into the country or buy over the 'Net. If you buy from someone inside the country you could be guilty of aiding and abetting.

IANAL :)

You are entitled to have a 3 month supply as long as its for personal use. As for prices, well some of the USA prices I seen have been outrageous. Its not exactly bargain basement here, but at least not as expensive a passtime as it is for our mates across the atlantic. Primo is particularly expensive in USA from what I can gather.

Anabolic steroids are Prescription Only drugs under the Medicines Act. They can only be sold by a pharmacist on the presentation of a doctor's prescription. Anabolic steroids are also class C drugs under the Misuse of Drugs Act. It is not an offence to possess anabolic steroids for personal use, unless they are counterfeit. It is an offence to supply them. Therefore police tend to arrest for steroid possession only if they can prove the drugs are counterfeit (and therefore not prescribed by a doctor). A small number of arrests and convictions are made on this basis each year.

If a patient obtains a drug from abroad then it falls under the importing regulations.
The Medicines Control Agency has stated that up to 3 months supply can be brought into the country as long as it is for individual use.

For medicines obtained abroad, the key issue is the legal status of the medicine in the country of purchase. If it is available OTC in that country then up to 3 months supply could be brought into the UK(as long as it is not also classified as a CD within the UK) and the person could be in possession of, and use the product without
breaking any regulations.

However although possession and use of a POM for personal use does not constitute a criminal offence, supply of such products is an offence and could be easily done. For example, somebody purchasing a
medicine abroad (UK classified POM) and bringing it into the country for someone else would also be committing an offence.

These are the laws as understood at present but really havent been tested in court to see how they are implemented.

What is Paracetamol? Codeine is available OTC? What about Tramadol or its trade name Ultram/Ultracet? That is the script I have for post surgery pain management but it is not quite strong enough. I just had a tendon reattached in my forearm and rehab and training has been pretty painful. The cast just came off a month ago. Ideally i would like to ask him to pick me up Hydrocodone , which is Percocept or vicoden that has worked the best for pain. But if Codeine is available OTC, I will have him grab me that. What would be the trade names i should have him look for?
Thanks for your help,

Indeed........

buying AAS from the UK is pointless.

Not only is there a limit to how much you can legally buy, but it's overpriced and not worth the time or effort.

Pass.

Yeah I wasn't sure about AAS in the UK but now I know for sure. So my best bet will be to have him look for pain meds for me to help with my tendon surgery recovery. It really still does hurt like a bitch and I have to mask it a bit so I can get back to training heavy. So I guess Codeine is the best bet huh? Like I said, will rather have him get me hydrocodone or tramadol if that is available.

Please all u UK guys, let me know what pain meds are available OTC.
Thanks,
-dino

Yeah I know. The codeine over there has that included anyway. I am curious if anything else is available there

It's a waste. There are things that do the same thing and more.

Codeine is available OTC here in Canada as well, but it is only 8mg per tab (Tylenol 1)

It also has 325mg of Tylenol and 15mg of Caffeine (I think?) per tab.

So it's not as if it is a big score in terms of pain meds.

I beleive the codeine available OTC in the UK is also only Tylenol 1. Keep in mind that most pharmacist have a hard time handing out Tylenol 1 to anybody especially some jacked up bodybuilder.
