Drug Treatment Programs???

Ok, dude at my gym got caught with 4 amps of omna on his person. The judge gave him a $200 fine, 80 hours community service and he has to complete a drug awareness program.

The drug program that the State of Florida offers is 24 weeks. (WTF???)

He can choose to go through the drug counseling program that his job offers. (not a good idea if you know what I mean)

The third option was to go to a drug counseling referal program and use their services. Has anyone ever done this? How long does the course/counseling last? Is there a fee?

BTW he is only 19 years old. I hope this doesn't follow him.

I have several people I know that have used company provided
EAP for assistance with Alchohol and they said It was very very confidential.
No one outside of HR knew, and even HR gave them glowing recommendations a year after they cleaned up.
