Drug Testing Question!!!

Here's a couple thoughts on this tho -- if you are specifically competing in a federation that is specifically tested and intended to be natural (for ex NGA is completed tested and assumed natural, NPC - some shows are tested, some aren't) my personal opinion is that you being "clean" at show time is sort of a slap in the face to the competitors who are natural and compete in that federation because it is all natural. Some other shows, like some NPC shows that say they do random testing, will do a voice stress analysis or polygraph test on a random selection of competitors. Its actually relatively easy to get around these tests simply because the test methods are not really accurate. Those that require a drug test of winners, again if the federation is intentionally and completely natural, those are the competitors the show is intended for. If it is more open, then your concern is just the winner test.
Not sure if that helped, but I'm leaning towards the sportsmanship aspect of it.
That said, there are rumblings of having all NPC pro-qualifier winners be tested. Which is sort of silly given the general approach to competition supplementation in that federation.

Steroids can show up for as much as 18 months. Some clear within days, others take months - sometimes years. It all depends on the substance and your body.
I won't even go into what I think about taking drugs, giving yourself time to clear, and THEN competing in a drug free contest .....

Here is a novel suggestion, how about the time that they are testing for. So if the show if 3 years drug free then be clean for 3 years. I competed in drug tested shows for years and last year was the last straw with all the cheaters. If your not really clean just compete in a show that's not tested.

I believe it's 3 weeks for Var.....
The hair sample is only for pot. I don't think they can test for roids that way.Gymgurl said:
Anyway don't know about drug testing in the US natural events but in the Canadian WNSO it is a joke they have a physic panel that judges if you look juiced or not. If you do look juiced they might not let your compete or get you to do a drug test.
That is why I didn't go the WNSO stream. I do respect people that compete naturally but lets be honest I know a good number of people that compete in that stream and are not natural. There will be use across the board no matter what the organization standards are people will always try to get away with what they can.Miss24k said:

If you are an athlete that has used in the past and has waited the allotted about of time to compete then by all means compete, but don't just stop how many ever weeks before the show that it takes to clear yourself from the test, that's a slap in the face of natural competitiors.
I'm not directly speaking to you QT, I'm just saying in general, this is something I highly disagree with.

I believe the phrase to look for would be "Lifetime Natural" and not just "Natural". Anybody can be natural at a comp. providing their detection time has passed. Yah, ALWAYS, tryin' to get away with what they can.superqt4u2nv said:
