drug testing for steroids

I'm in the military and someone had leaked out that i was probably taking juice. Well I had been taking some test cyp. about 200mgs perweek. They just tested me about a week and a half ago. I'm not sure how high my test levels would have to be for them to determine use. I have no idea what the cutoff would be for test levels. I'm very worried about losing my job. Does anyone have any good info that could help. They used urinalysis. Thanks

So they actually tested your urine for steroids? Or was it random drug test? If they did test you for your testost. that is a really mild dose...depends on how long you had been taking it...i'd also do the GNC route too to back yourself up and dig a hole and put your gear in it.

At that dose as long as you havent been on too long you should be ok. Not everyone falls into the "norm" test levels anyways, so unless you blow them off the chart it will be hard to prove you were really on. The prohormone route will be nice to fall back on just in case though. You should be fine bro. Good luck.

In order to detect testosterone usage you need both a blood and urine test and you compare the levels in each. You can't determine conclusively from one or the other so you should be ok. After all, testosterone is in your body naturally.

I haven't heard that they need both types of tests to detect use. They measure test to epitest ratios in your urine or blood. Since everyone varies, anything up to a 6-1 ratio is considered normal. It just depends on what your ratio was before you started.

I was in the Navy until last May and I can tell you that you will be fine with the drug test.

I believe that's true. But I also understood that they will specifically test for steroids if its brought to their attention that someone might be on them. Correct me if Im wrong.

hey bro. sorry to hear about your situation, hope all goes well. here is the info that you need. it comes straight from the "DoD Drug Testing Policy." I have included a link to the whole DoD Directive, and have cut and pasted the part about Steroids. The big question is whether they were doing a random inspection, or if it was indeed for probably cause. If it was for random inspection, then your chances of getting caught are very slim. You should note 5.1.1.3 (in the section i cut and pasted) that EACH SERVICE IS ONLY REQUIRED TO TEST 1000 SPECIMINS PER EVERY 2 YEARS. But if they were testing you under probably cause, they have to send the specimin off to a special laboratory that will test for steroids. and this will cause them lots of extra money.

Also, when you signed the urinalysis paper, do you remember what the two letters were next to your name?
If the two letters were IR or IU, they you were only getting a urinalysis for a random inspection.
If the letters were PC, then you were getting a urinalysis for Probably Cause.

5. PROCEDURES

5.1. Anabolic Steroids. The following procedures
are established for:

5.1.1. Testing. The Services are to test for anabolic
steroids by urinalysis, as follows:

5.1.1.1. In certain target populations on a command-directed
basis, as required.

5.1.1.2. In cases where probable cause exists.

5.1.1.3. By a random sampling of urine specimens.
Each Service is required to test at least 1000 random
specimens for anabolic steroids every 2 years.

5.1.1.4. Anabolic steroid specimens shall be collected
using the same procedures for collection and chain of
custody, as described in enclosure 1, and be subject
to the same restrictions on use of results, as described
in DoD Directive 1010.1 (reference (a)).

5.1.1.5. Testing shall be performed at an anabolic
steroid testing laboratory that has current certification
from a national or international certifying organization.
The certifying organization must maintain an inspection
process, initial proficiency testing, and an ongoing
blind proficiency testing program with a minimum of
two cycles each year. Results of proficiency testing
must be made available to the Government. Arrangements
shall be made by the Services for contract laboratory
services or the development of anabolic steroid testing
capability in the military drug testing laboratories.
