Drinking calories

If you're hitting your calories in meals, is there any benefit in drinking in a mass drink or are they a waste of time? I'm know people who try to bump up to the next calorie level by blending oats and protein. But intuitively I think: if it was that simple everyone would be 220ibs from drinks and save themselves the effort of stuffing the food down.

Whole food is always superior. Any mass gainer shake is going to be loaded with cheap carbohydrate fillers and poor quality oils. Most weight gainers are based on maltodextrin which has a higher gi rating then sugar.

If you are having trouble eating all your meals, what I would do instead is buy a high quality blender and blend together
A high quality protein powder like isolation from n2bm.com
Chia/flax seeds
Frozen berries
Oatmeal
Natural almond butter
Spinach/kale
Banana

It'll provide may more nutrients and be way cheaper then any sort of mass gainer shake
