well, first off i will say it's kinda hard to explain, but i can try. for me, being high is very relaxing. everything is chill, and music just grooves. weed works extremely well as a pain reliever. i love being able to smoke after a workout. you lose pretty much all sore and tense feelings. and also, you are able to eat and eat. :) if you smoke enough, you will get stupidly funny. this is fun, espeically when smoking out with friends. there are times when you will end up laughing and then falling into school girl-like giggles and cannot stop for several minutes. if you decide to smoke even more, you will reach a point of an extreme stoned state where you will do nothing but just sit there. some people will literally pass out if they keep smoking.

as for the "high" itself, it somewhat depends on the weed you are smoking, namely, whether it is indica or sativa (one gives you a more mellow high and one gives you a more energetic high in my experience). i've had discussions with friends before trying to accurately describe the feeling of being high, but the only descriptive word we could come up with is "high". our conclusion was that you'd have to experience the high in order to know exactly what it feels like.

depending on why you have never tried it, i suggest that you do try it. you might like it. if you don't use it excessively, you won't find any resulting problems from using.

Hmmm I dunno. I heard it makes you tired. I like being active.

yeah, weed can make you feel tired. but if you are rested, a few hits won't affect your energy too much. smoking a few bowls would be a different story. :) next time your boy is passing the blunt, just take a couple hits. a couple hits won't do too much, and many people don't feel the the full effects of the mj their first time smoking it too.

I've never smoked anything before...

For starters:

I am allergic to cigarette smoke.
Most jobs drug test (my last one did me several times)

Why would I spend my money on MJ or cigarettes when I could spend it on food?

I never have either. I think I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. Not to mention the fact that it is a disgusting habit.

And people that are high tend to annoy me.

Yeah, well fuck the cigarettes anyway. And drug testing is certainly a prime reason not to partake of the wacky weed.

But you said you've *never* smoked anything. Marijuana is relatively cheap and quite the social drug. Noone has to buy it to try it. So how come you never tried it? I'm not knocking that decision; I'm just curious.

Honestly,

I am ignorant to drugs. I don't understand them and my opinion of them is pretty poor. I have several fraternity brothers who have become "idiots" over the past several years and they smoke VERY OFTEN. Maybe they would have been idiots anyway...lol.

I have also been "burned" (no pun intended) before by someone who used MJ. Long story which is not worth going into at the moment...lol...but once you have been "hurt" by someone using MJ it is hard not to associate negative things with something.

Does any of this make any sense?

What I really want to say is this...my IGNORANCE is the main reason. I have friends who do on a daily/multi-daily basis and I try to understand so that I will be less judgemental and more understanding of them and their habit/addiction. I love them and that is a part of their life. That makes it important to me to learn and understand.

I just don't care to partake in it at all. I can't see any benefit that "I" could get from it...but I can see lots of harm (especially in my professional career/future).

as for drugs.. just scroll through the boards here and find out what lives have been ended and who's been affected lately...

Well, I think that's a pretty cool view, for the most part. And it would be hard to argue that you're doing yourself harm by not smoking weed.

I just don't like the way it makes me feel. I mean, I REALLY don't like the way it me feel. My thoughts hit from angles that are shot out of different dimensions. It's just very uncomfortable for me, mentally.

It's wonderful. I just clicked on this thread right before I was about to light up.

My guess is you are cautious about trying marijuana because you believe it will affect your fitness lifestyle. It wont. The only very minute side effects would be that you may eat more (which could good for you if bulking) and that anything smoked does have effects on the lungs.

Place those virtually non-existent potential side effects against the benefits... Reduced stress, reduced pain, mood lift, and many more.

The high matches your energy level in an off-way, G18. Weed doesnt make you tired or drowsy unless you are already tired. If you are energetic at the time, your energy level isnt likely to be effected.

Weed is hands down, without a shadow of a doubt the absolute best recreational drug. It's healthier than cigarettes or alcohol. It's fairly economical (although it could be much cheaper if it was legal). It wont effect our fitness lifestyle like excess alcohol or excess hard hard drugs would.

WARNINGS OF 'SUPER WEED' JUST BLOWING SMOKE
by Brian Bennett, Georgia

As a member of the baby boomer generation, I, like many of my cohorts, experimented with marijuana in my youth.

Many people, like me, even inhaled it and found it quite enjoyable. But these days we are warned that marijuana is "more dangerous" than ever, and that our youth is in grave danger because today's weed is up to 30 times more powerful than weed in the '60s and '70s.

We're being told that we must protect the children and that we should join the chorus of voices pounding it into our children's heads that drugs are bad.

First, I reviewed some of the available literature about marijuana. I found that marijuana contains more than 400 chemicals.

That was interesting, but not really useful, as I also have discovered that a single coffee bean contains some 1,200 chemicals, while common tea contains a whopping 4,000. Clearly, this was not the real issue.

I learned, and of course remembered, that smoking marijuana made your eyes bloodshot, your mouth dry and your appetite insatiable. Could the modern super weed make your eyes even redder, or your cottonmouth 30 times as dry?

Being curious by nature, I knew there was only one way to get to the bottom of the issue: find out for myself. There was only one logical thing to do: go to the marijuana mecca -- Amsterdam.

I knew that in Amsterdam people could walk into a "coffee shop" and buy marijuana just like any other commodity, and that's exactly what I found.

Upon arriving and checking into my hotel, I walked a few blocks and went into one of the shops. I told the counter person that I was interested in trying something really strong, and he recommended I try the "White Widow." I bought some and sat at a nearby table to smoke it.

I took two or three hits then waited to see what happened. Holy smokes, this was indeed some very powerful weed. I sat in the coffee shop for a good hour in a state that can only be described as "totally baked."

After a short while, I left to walk about in the city and stopped in several other shops, sampling the wares along the way. I spent three days in the pot capital of the world and tried many varieties of weed and hashish.

The conclusion I draw from the experience was much the same as the one I drew from my first experience with smoking marijuana: no way should this be illegal.

Today's marijuana is more powerful, but no matter how hard I tried, I could not smoke myself unconscious.

Yes, I was very, very stoned, but the most pronounced effect of that was laughing hysterically, and yes indeed, I had a huge case of the "munchies."

I suffered none of the effects I have experienced with drinking too much: no staggering, no bumping into anyone, and best of all, no throwing up or waking up wondering how I'd gotten home.

Don't lie to your kids and don't swallow the propaganda. The most dangerous thing about today's super weed is the same one that we faced in our youth: getting caught.
