don't shop at onsale.com

do not ever buy anything from onsale.com

i recently purchased an item that had $80 in rebates and paid the estra money for 2 day shipping. the reason i paid the extra money for 2nd day air is because the rebates must be *received* by them 15 days from the purchase.

well, considering the only other option was 5-7 day ground shipping or second day air, i had no choice...since i didn't want to risk not getting my rebate.

so, it is now 4 days later and nothing has shown up. when i called them to find out what the fuck was going on, they told me my my credit card was declined because of an 'address failure'.

well, there is no way there is an address failure, because my billing address and shipping address is the exact same. we went over my address letter by letter, number by number, and everything was correct.

so, now i have to call my credit card company to find out what is going on.

oh yeah, did i mention those assholes never called me to tell me there was a problem with my order? they are doing this to fuck me out of my rebate, i'm sure of it.

Cancel and put a stop on your credit card.

I am very cautious about rebates nowadays. I got ripped off a $100 rebate from wirefly.com when I bought my cell phone. I typed "wirefly" and "scam" into google and was amazed at how many people get screwed with this ongoing scam and nothing is being done about it.

same here, onrebate.com took them 6 months for a 20$ rebate....i made a complaint to the BBB and all....

got my 20$ tho, (i only complained because the item i bught was 20$, and the 20$ rebate made it free) and onrebate.com says "get your refund in weeks not months"

wow. I used to use onsale.com years ago before ebay caught on.

how could they suspect it is fradulent? the billing and shipping address are the exact same, it's being shipped to nice area, and i usually make purchases in this price range.

I work at an online retailer and part of my job is fraud investigation. You would be amazed at the amount of fraud that occurs even though the shipping address and billing address match. Sometimes fraud offenders use the real shipping address to get past the security check. Then once the order is placed and shipped, they get the tracking number and call UPS or Fedex and have the package re-routed to a different address.

rebates are noting more than scams that companies hope people will forget to send in, not read the fine print, or let so much time elapse that people forget about it. why do u think they just don't give u the discoutn at the pos? i avoid them.

i've sent in 2 rebates last 2 years. 0 ever came back with a check

I make a file of rebates, so I dont forget what rebates I sent out, plus copies of everything. I havent had a problem with rebates since I started doing this.
