you're a dick.

Why is that?

The rest of the "missions" that those poor military men went through were utterly useless and highly destructive...

For example, the ass-kicking handed to the MIGHTY island of Greneda...woohoo... Their huge population of 7,000 was no match for the barrels of whoop-ass the US military opened for them.

You're right. The guys in Somalia aren't vets. It was a cakewalk, no?

Whether you think it was pointless or not, did they not risk their lives for the country?

In Greneda? What were they doing there (and countless other missions where they only killed people for material gain)?

WWII was a war of American heroes. Korea and Vietnam was pushing it, but they will still fighting for an American ideal...no matter how pointless.

By all means........and take a minute to remember the millions of civilians that Robert Macnamara murdered as well

Something that a friend of mine wrote

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I commend those that make these sacrifices and go where they are told to go. The ones that so many of us forget are still fighting as we continue on our daily lives. The ones that are protecting us or fighting for what the government feel is just. I am sadden to think of wives, husbands, children, family, and friends right now missing you tremendously. They too are so strong by being the backbone of their military person in their lives. They're piece of reality to their old life. Their love. Their hope. Their reason.

So to all of the men and women out there who really do not want to be there THANK YOU! For you keep on going everyday realizing that there is something that has to be done. You know more first hand of what is going on than the civilian and keep those secrets bury deep within you. Such strength, courage, honor, etc. you all display. You fight for so many reasons that only you know to be true. You continue to fight so nobody else will be sent over in your place. You fight so hopefully the rest of us will not have to in years to come.

While you might not agree with the government, don't take it out on the people serving their country.

we don't even get a holiday!!! SCHOOL IS GAY!!!

No fucking shit jesus. My dad is a 'nam veteran and I can't even spend the holiday with him to show my appreciation. Fucking school. What really pisses me off is that most of my liberal hot shot professors wouldn't have the balls to fight for the very country that provides them the opportunities that they have. I don't care where they fought each and every one of our armed forces vets deserves much more than we could ever give.

Yup, I'm going to thank my grandpa who served in Patton's army in WWII . Plus, my father who served in Seabees in 'Nam. I'm surprised they made it back in one piece but they are truly remarkable men.

Without Veterans, we wouldn't be here today.

thanks ALL vets!!!

ignore the liberal doublespeak above...

we're gonna make him go to a john wayne film
festival or something...

before his unit falls off...:D

BUMP.....
Though you may not agree with the politics of conflicts, don't blame the Men and women that followed orders.

Thanks again to ALL, especially to the Vets I know..

My Dad... WWII, Korea, Vietnam
27 Years and 6 overseas deployments/Cruises in the US Navy.
Assigned as a field Medic/Corpsman with the US Marines in Vietnam.
I'm sure he saw some nasty stuff.
My mother says he came back from there a different man.

My Father in law.. WWII, Korea
He was in the First wave of the invasion of Normandy with the US Army Rangers.
Told me some wicked stories of what he saw when liberating German prisoners across europe.
Human Experimentation is how I'll describe it.
When we went together to the Theater to see "Saving Private Ryan",
he had to leave the theater for a bit during the beginning of the movie.
