After dieting on a low carb basis for a while, when i eventually did decide to have a refeed, ar a cheat (only once in a blue moon),
I noticed that the next day I looked like the mitchelin man, my face was soooo bloated and it looked like i had put on 20 lb overnight, funny thing was i was like 4% body fat! but by looking at my face there was no way you could have noticed.
Does any one else find this???

That was enough to put me off cheating, for a while. I have now weened my way back on to carbs but cut them out of my diet after 4.00pm

I am hesitant to do the low carb thing again as i dont think it suits me, also i always feel lethargic and sh***y when on low - no carbs, so any suggestions on other diet types would also be helpfull

thanks

its water retention and a bad point of cutting carbs out of youd die.
Most ppl who go on low carb diets put it all back when they reintroduce carbs.

your best bet is to take in a modest amount of carbs and be sensible and tarin hard, supplement well and in the long run it'll be better.

Carbs are stored as ATP energy stores. For ATP to be used, water is needed, so equal amounts of ATP and water are usually stored in your body. When you carb up, your muscles are starved for ATP, so great amounts of it is stored, along with equivalent water - thus the bloating.

The more lean mass you have, the less bloat you will expirience after the refeed. It also helps to do a solid depletion workout prior to the feeding.
