Does my doctor know what he is doing?

When I was 11 I noticed really hard lumps under my nipples, I didn't go to a doctor for it till I was 12. He just said, and I'm not kidding, that I was "being whiney" and it will go away in the next few years.

Well when I turned 17 I decided to go to a hormone doctor and one of the most well reknown surgeons in my area. He had my hormone levels checked out and my estrogen was extremely high and my testoterone was extremely low. So he put me on testosterone shots (which I was happy about), and tamoxifen. Ever since then I have been going back to him and have tests ran and I have shown little improvement on my hormone levels but my gyno just will not go away. I'm almost 21 now, so I've pretty much been living with this all my life, and its really discouraging when you like body building when your chest looks the way it does.

I kind of wish I could have just had them cut out when I was younger, but my cousin had a gyno surgury when he was 15 or 16 and his problems reoccured when he was 18, so my parents thought it was a bad idea to talk to a surgeon.

What do you guys think? What should I do? Should I suggest something instead of Tamoxifen to him? I think its too late for insurance to pay for the surgury, so I might be screwed there.

Also, don't you think its bad that I have been taking testoterone for almost 4 years now, and I'm only at "average" levels? I have a feeling if I keep taking it my body will never make it on my own and I'll be taking it for the rest of my life.

humm... seems strange that the doc.. would do that to me? umm
i would get it cut out. and i would go free of the shots for a while. to see what happends..
There are some really good surgeons out there.. go talk to one.. also go talk to another endocrinologist
there are good ones and bad ones..

I don't know if I can get it cut out on insurance now that I'm almost 21. I think I will go see another endocrinologist, he has a really good reputation around here so I'm suprised. And I'm not on shots anymore, I was on those for a year and they didn't do much, so he put me on a testerone cream with chrysin mixed in, my levels have been a lot better since then.
