Does it hurt to take a day off from everything. (worrying about meals, working out) Today i went to the beach and went fishing and just had a relaxed day were i just didn't worry about my meals or working out. Is that okay

Every once in a while it's a good idea. Just don't make a habit of it.

I day out of the gym is fine -- I would make sure you still chow down your protien though -- really how hard is it to down a few shakes and a few cans of tuna?

you need it man, but make sure you try to get your cals in there

Time off

Yeah, it's a good idea to take a couple of days off the weights, and when you are in the gym every day try not to hit the same muscles too often (otherwise they have no time to recover - and grow!).

I tell you for me I sometimes will take a week off of the weights. I will come back and be lifting way harder than before, but thats after lots and lots of training for months.

I think you HAVE to do this at least one day a week for sanitys sake. You're not training for the Mr. Olympia, right? :)

must be nice living in florida, going to the beach in november.

its about 40 degrees here during the day and about 18 at night.

It's necessary once in a while. If you're too strict about never missing workouts and you never take a break, it will catch up to you. Sometimes you need to listen to your body.

yeah i don't do it very often but i'll tell you what that kid who is juicing really is gettin huge (blown up) i'm glad i didn't juice in the long run i'll be good i want to run for mr olympia you can't do that on juice

i just took a month off...best thing i ever did.

One of my biggest mistakes starting out was not taking enough days off. I usually get a stretch and some cardio in on those off days. As far as missing those meals, it won't "hurt" you, but you did miss some opportunities for growth and recovery.

By some of the responses I've read here, I wonder if some of you understand that rest = growth. You grow when you rest, and tear down when you lift. One fucking day off per week isn't nearly enough in my opinion. I take 9 days between training days. I lift 4 days per week, but have a six-day regimine, so it works out that way. I used to(once upon a time) do that training each muscle-group twice per week shit, at like 20 sets per muscle group, while never taking time off. When I got sick of it, and decided to switch to a rest-oriented regimine, I grew like a maggot on a dog terd.

Atomic...do us a favor? Post your routine....thanks bro...it'll help us all out....and your current stats too, if you don't mind.......
