Does baking Gear remove the BA?????

linux

Banned
Well it looks like the answer is no. As stated in another thread i was going to do an experiment to answer this question. I added 2.5191 grams of Benzyl alchol to a 30 ml vial. Then i added enough oil to bring up to about 25cc of volume. Essentially making about a 10% BA solution. A little bit high if we were injecting this so lets try to bake some of that out. I then stoppered the vial and put an 18 gauge needle to vent the BA. Total mass of this whole setup (see attached photo) was 68.9441 grams. Two hours later at 275 F and after cooling the mass was 68.8987 grams. Our BA content has been reduced to 9.81%. Not an effective method. I have now removed the stopper completely and heating for another two hours to see how much can be removed this way.

More results coming in about 2 hours....And im open to any experiments you guys wanna set up....

My money's on that baking wont do shit. I tried it a while back and know of a few others that have to no avail. Good to see someone do it and analyze the results you get. Let us know.

After two more hours at 275 F with the stopper out it has dropped another .89%

Summary of Results

Starting BA concentraion 10%
After 2 hours 18 gauge needel Vent 9.81%
After 2 more hours stopper out 8.92%

All the BA can be removed per a previous experiment i did, but you have to pour the gear out into a dish to increase the surface area exposed for the BA to evaporate off.

Conclusion: Baking your gear to remove BA does not work. Increasing the Temp or time would help.

I have stated this before from my own "thoughts" linux, im glad you have done this experiment ot back it up.....there is just not much way you could bake a closed vial for 30 min and have the ba evaporate out, there is no precipitation on the vial when you do this either, so it inevitably doesn't work!!!

very nice experiment mr LINUX!!!!

I remember reading where someone said it did and it reduced the pain. I tried it and the high dosed test i have is still painful. Nice job in proving it linux. K to you bro
