Trying to explain something on another thread made me think about something.

How many of you read an actual newspaper on a regular basis? I guess reading online would count too.

If so, how often do you read the newspaper, and how many different ones?

Growing up, that's how I learned to read. Everyday I would read the newspaper in the morning, and every Sunday my father would go to the local news stand and buy several out of town papers, usually the Atlanta Constitution, Washington Post, or the NY Times.

Used to everyday, but I don't care anymore.

What the fuck for? So you can discuss current events with people? I'm just kidding. I just really don't care anymore.

No just to keep current on what is up..funny thing ...the older that I get the more I read the obits lol

I always read the obits to see if anyone died that I knew.

I went to college with a girl who did that. Every morning she would be reading the obits before class.

Speaking of obits, back when I worked for the paper a college girl wrote of a fake obit for a coworker, and it got in the paper. Needless to say she didn't have a job the next day. :worried:

We also had a girl write up a fake classified ad for a temp. agency. It went along the lines that they were looking for a female who could "fuck" her way to the top. She didn't have a job after that either. ;)

I read the Washington Post but I usually check out the metro, life and high school sports sections. Occasionally I'll read the editorial page for a laugh.

Everything else is already history by the time you pick up a paper these days (internet, cable news, etc).

I no longer have the paper delivered.

I used to read the obits when I was working in Sun City (Hugh Del Webb retirement community here in AZ). Checked to see if customers had died.

I haven't had a hard copy delivered in ages. It doesn't help my local delivery option is the Arizona Repulsive, I mean Republic. I work in a Library and I think more people check out the latest Dan Brown book on a daily basis than look at the news papers.
