of washer/dryer? Front load are supposed to be better but I've heard you need to keep the door open when not in use so the rubber seal does'nt get moldy or start to smell. You gotta take these epinions with a grain of salt, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone has it. I know wodin does and likes it but he's like a thousand years old and they don't make them the way they used to back in the stone age. ha jk bro.

Anyway, it's either $2300 for this washer/dryer or about $1000 for a normal pair. Either way I'm getting a 5 year warranty for them. I can't see myself spending that much for a freaking washer/dryer, but i also hear great things about them. Answer! link below... I'm going possibly tonight to pull the trigger. ATDQ!

That looks futuristic and almost small. Mine is a really big old school one, but not that old. Just massive and white. Works well as far as I know. If it washes the clothes, then I'm pretty much happy. I don't need much more than that.

Why are front load better? in what way?

Because they are HUGE. YOu will never have to go to a laundro mat again. YOu can fit 16 pairs of jeans in one load. YOu can do same amount of towels. You can do your comforter as well and it cleans it perfectly. plus they dont use as much water or soap. There is special soap made for the front loaders. They are just way so much better

Bro buy a normal pair.. its a fuckign washer and dryer.

Damn 100 dollars fora maytag set.. it will last you 20 years and you dotn have to play some fuckign chinese puzzle game with the door.

Yeah they are better, I was just wondering if it was worth the $2300 vs $1000? They save huge amounts of water and energy and detergent. This model has more options than the normal machine, but if you don't need them, then it's not worth it for you. I like the pedestals they come with. (optional for about $150 each machine) They raise the units to a comfortable height and it has a drawer for storage underneath.

Kitchenaids are great btw.

I'll decide tonight depending on what kind of deal my local guy gives me. I bought all my stuff from him and he gave me pretty good prices before.

Thanks! Daisylegs, do you keep your door open to the machine for drying it (the excess water) and stopping mold and possible smells? If I need to keep it open then I can't really get this thing. My room is exact size and the doors have to be closed.

No I have never heard of that ever. About the mold and smell. Even if you did u could have the door open a tiny crack i am sure. But dont let that change you mind about them. I think it would be soooooo worth your 1300. dollars to get them. I also have the pedistals. they are great. I cant say how much I enjoy them and never would ever go back to the older style.

Thanks bro. That's two people out of two that love them.

Wait, are you Wodin's wife? Then that does'nt count. lol jk

Are you? jk

But do they really save you all that money on detergent and water when they cost more than twice as much as the other washer to begin with? Will you really bypass $1300 worth of detergent and water bills anyway? That's a lot of detergent and water.

No they don't but they ARE better machines. They do stuff automatically like water levels and like we mentioned earlier, are bigger than the standard sized units. They're supposed to be quieter...

We can't compare it exactly like apples to apples because people buy Camrys and people buy Ferraris. Is the Ferrari THAT much better...? You know the story. lol

I read a few epinions and saw that mold and smell issue with leaving the door closed so I figured I'd ask here before I go out tonight for one. I'll decide when I'm there. We'll see what they all have to offer. If they were'nt double the price, it would be a nobrainer for me. but...

Then again, I just bought a $1000 DVD player. lol Go figure. priorities...

My parents dropped 750 bucks down on a frontloading washer and it didnt take long for it to break - I'll ask them what brand it was. Also we had issues with a dryer sucking ass too - supposed to be good models too.

Think long term to this is a huge purchase and will last you MANY MANY years.. ;) and holy crap 1000 dollars for a dvd player???

the front loaders wash at a raging 90 strokes a minute on gentle cycle...... god knows i can't even stroke that fast on my most furious cycle. that alone is worth 1300.

I'll be here when Oprah's over. Though by the time you get here it'll be time for Oprah to come back on. Your call though. ;)

I bought the damn things! $2411.09 WTF???? I got the optional pedestals and total 5 year warranty for both. I also got the top of the line in that model range. (not the one in the link I posted, but the one higher.) Damn them!

Believe me, I still got a good deal, he gave me the best prices I've seen anywhere including online stores without the delivery! Still freaking $2400!!!!!damn! fuck damn fuck!

and damn!

A little good news... it starts today... a 3 year supply of detergent if you buy these two units. ehhh, that's another $240. It's 30 bottles of 100ounce HE detergent (choice of powder or liquid)

More details.. He gave me 3% tax instead of 6%, he gave me the pedestals at his cost $105 each. Trust me, that's a steal, $99 for 4 additional years of full warranty, and the great prices on the two units.

I'm done, thanks for all the help.

Rex, after Matlock, youre a deadman!

and when I clean my dentures. DEAD MAN I say!

My clothes come out perfectly clean from a $600/pair Sears set.

When the plumber came to install my stuff, he was complaining about Maytag Neptune rigs having problems with the electronics in the control panel, and many owners getting screwed on warranty. Including the plumber.

Yeah I was wondering about electronics especially in my basement, but that's why I asked people here and other's opinions and everyone seems to love them.

Sears has the same model (washer)for $1399. I got mine for $1165. wohoo. lol

Don't give me buyer's remorse bastard! I get that easily. It's usually when I end upgrading to a higher model of something. Like I did today with the washer. The one in the link was $980 or something at this place.

Anyway, they're coming tuesday and I'm gonna piss on them so I can't give them back. So there.

Now I gotta grout the damn tiles I layed last weekend. Small 3X5 area.

Also, this little bit of info... I guess it does save a bit of money in the long run... $150/year is a lot! If you were to believe that, 5 years worth + the $250 rebate is the $1000 right there AND you got a stellar machine for those five years. Ehh, I'm trying to convince myself. lol Nah just pointing stuff out. cut and paste...
