that's classless, even I think so

whiskey should be slammed at room temp

wow, that says a LOT

man, I used to be a HUGE whiskey drinker. JD mostly. I used to drink a bottle a night (pre-game). I would go to keg (classless) parties and bring a bottle of JD with me - walk around the party drinking it straight from the bottle. eventually got to the point where I would just walk around the bar with a flask on me.

On my 21st bday my buddies at school pitched in and got me a 25yo bottle of Macallan. :p

I'm sippin' on chilled leinenkugel's honey weiss right now, that count?

That stuff is awesome beer.

Knob Creek is good stuff. It's smoother when chilled but you don't taste it as much. I may take it out of the freezer. Along with my Jack.

For some reason, I find I get more taste out of bourbon/whiskey with it being chilled, with it being room temp it seems to lose flavor and adds in on the burn. Of course I don't consider JD a sipping whiskey and never drank it for flavor. Want something for Flavor, try Blanton's or Bookers. Both Bourbons and are GREAT. Blanton's is the best I've ever had but is 50 a bottle Bookers is around 40 or so. Blanton's is also 124proof, it is the only bourbon uncut from the barrel and boy it is Heaven.

I miss drinking.

neat whiskey (room temp, no ice) will taste different to chilled whiskey or whiskey on the rocks, because different chemicals vaporise at different rates at different temperatures.

when whiskey distillers make it, their tasters mix in a little bit of water (which again changes the taste) and do quality control based on that - so while the way you drink it is going to come down to personal preference, if you want to experience the drink in the way it was intended, you drink it as they do

(personally all my liquor lives in the freezer, but then, i make my own so i get to make the rules too :))
