Does anybody here do this when drawing oil?

Do you draw oil out of a vial and then swith the syringes needle with another one before injecting? Someone told me that this is what they do because the rubber stopper will blunt the needle out a bit. Thus making it a bit more painful when using that needle.

i change the point when i use the glass sanp off amps, but i dont think its needed for the rubber stopper........i never saw a nurse change the point after putting it through.

yeah man, thats only how I do it. 20 g for drawing and 25g for injections. You can draw a lot faster and pierce yourself with a sharper needle; it only makes sense.

precisely; anything larger than 20g will really chew up the stopper on a large vial.

Even a single stick through the rubber stopper will start to blunt the end of a needle. Also, bump that it takes a lot less time to draw it through the larger needle and inject with the smaller. With amps...to draw it up one should really use a filtered needle. I know these are expensive, but there can be microscopic pieces of glass that can be aspirated. Some might disagree from experience, but I do it in practice everyday. Better safe than sorry.

I change needles only with amps, because the glass edges dull the needle a bit. But with vials such as tren with a rubber stopper, I don't change needles. I just wipe the needle with a alcohol swab, then let it dry for a second or two. Then I inject.

I switch needles too. I tried a dull needle once, i bled a lot more than necessary, so i decided to continue my method of switching :D

I never heard of a filtered needle, good advice with amps bro!

Looks just like a regular needle, but has a .2micron filter in the shaft. These are used in the hospital setting for preventing aspiration of something too large to be injected. i.e. glass shards, Na Mannitol, etc...

So regardless of amps or vials with stoppers....you guys are saying change the needle always huh? Damn! But thats going to be more costly because I now would have to purchase more needles and/or syringes.

i have a 18g to draw with then inject with a 23g

Yes, Carth.

That's the way to go, it makes things smoother when injecting.

relatively inexpensive when you compare it against getting an infection..

5 cents each needle at calvetsupply.com I buy 100 at a time and just switch between drawing and injecting. loose a lot less blood that way. I would gladly spend an extra nickel to have a sharper sanitary pin anyday. Just me though.

It won't cost you an arm or leg. I use 18g to draw and depending on injection site 23 or 25g. I purchase the combo syringe/needle for what I need for my cycle and also buy 10-20 18g pins. I draw up a week or twos worth of shots with one 18g pin. Really not very costly!

To be honest bro, I know you should switch needles, but I don't.

I use the same needle everytime, if its good enough for my doc its good enough for me.
