Does anybody 'get' theoretical physics?

Im reading an article about the possibility of us creating sub-atomic sized black holes with the future crop of Colliders.
Its talking about the 5th+ dimensions.

I get some of it ... but some shit is too abstract.


Have black holes been proven or are they theoretical themselves?
