Hi. I have a brother who is really skinny and over 2m tall. This is really bothering him alot. It is almost impossible for him to gain weight. He feels like shit and is paranoid. Feels everybody's looking at him when he gets out of the chair. He has problems just going to the store to get groceries. This has been a problem for years now and I feel it's time to maybe look at some aas to help him out. I want to take him with to the gym again now since we again live close to each other.

I could use some good advice on what kind of cycle to maybe put him on. And please no: "200mg of anadrol ed for 12weeks will make him big!!" .. Could use some answers from people who maybe has been in this position before.

Thanks

If he isn't already going to the gym I don't think steroids are appropriate.

Put him on Bill Starr's basic 5x5 program - this will add weight to just about anyone: http://forum.mesomorphosis.com/showthread.php?t=12 <very good thread to read through>

First and foremost, his biggest problem is that he needs to learn to accept himself and not let the attention from others bother him. Putting weight on him is only going to cover this up and create an odd psychological twist/dependency. Sort of like getting a girl a tit job to cover up an insecurity about being flat chested. They never get the chance to work through a serious issue at their core and it will later manifest itself in different ways. The best thing you can do for him is to get him help in this regard.

He needs to realize that he is alive and he exists in this body. He is not his body - the body is his vehicle and it is the only one he has. He needs to decondition himself from feeling insecure to being happy (we have all learned how to make ourselves miserable in one fashion or another). What he basically needs is to build some self esteem so that the attention of others whether curious or outright negative does not sway his inner peace. This is the crux of the matter - not hoping to cover it up by adding some quick pounds to him.

Don't get me wrong, I totally understand the situation and how difficult it can be. At heart, no one wants to be different or odd and have it forced on them. If you really want to help your brother, IMO, this is the biggest thing you can do for him. If he conquers this hurdle you can transform his whole life. There is a lot of info out there on seeing through the mind's games and illusions - try some readings on Zen, get him into a meditation or yoga class <not a high intensity exercise one - one that focuses on inner peace>. This stuff doesn't conflict with any religion, it's a matter of clearning out the mind's clutter by smoothing the choppyness. Calm the waves and you can see clearly through the water. You learn a lot about yourself and learn not to take your thoughts and insecurities so seriously. I hope that helps in some way and I wish your brother the best no matter which path he decides to take.

I think so answers to some questions first before you can get any good advice, firstly, does he lift - at all, what age / wt is he, some stats please. What does he eat? are there any known medical reasons that he cant put on weight, if for example there is an undiagnosed thyroid problem!? He maybe needs to get checked out before firing headlong into a cycle.

He doesnt lift much, and he's 22years old. He used to train all the time before but now doesnt dare to go to the gym. He used to be on a diet given to him by the doctor. He used to grow so fast in length that the doctor put him on primotest when he was 18 for it to stop him growing in length.Even then combined with his diet, he didnt grow. But then again the doses where probably not that high.

About the thyroid I'll ask him to check it out at the doc's..

If he grows that tall so fast, has his doctor checked him for GH levels? He may have a pituitary adenoma (like Andre the Giant).
If there is no other medical, hormonal, or cardiovascular problem, then starting a low dose of Deca-Durabolin (with script) and work out.
It has been used in HIV patients in upto 600mg doses to gain weight.

This is a good point re: GH, however if he was given primo as early as you say no matter how small the dose it could have effected lifelong growth problems, i do hope not. Still i would get him in the gym and start him lifting, see how it goes, sorry but i wouldnt recommend even small doses of AAS right now, have him checked , like i said before, you can mail me on [email protected] if you want some private advice..

I think madcow gave some great advise. Solve the mental aspect before he starts AAS. He should be training steady for at least 1 year before starting.

If he is really skinny and has trouble putting on weight, he's a natural ectomorph whose adrenals spew out cortisol at the drop of a hat.

for him, the best thing would be anavar, which IS ACTUALLY INDICATED FOR HIS CONDITION in the PDR ("....failure to gain or maintain weight even in the absense of pathophysiological conditions...." or something close).

IOW, a cooperative doc will prescribe it for him once educated. some nice BTG paid for by insurance :p .

Also, sometimes a weight-training program for an ectomorph who is already too skinny just leads to overtraining and more catabolism. can't handle the stress. one or more 6 week cycles of anavar will safely put some good quality keepable muscle on him, and then his body will be better able to cope & adapt and benefit from the rigors of natural weight training without going catabolic. it is often prescribed for AIDS patients and cancer/cachexia patients to reverse wasting.

stick with a high calorie diet (especially high protein), and keep an eye on HDL levels as Var trashes HDL temporarily. no animal fats during the time you're on the var (use natural peanut butter with no hydrogenated fats or trans fat, and lots of olive oil, nuts). This will minimize the cardiovascular damage while he's HDL-impaired. (do a search on hdl etc you'll find lots of stuff here)

also, get some creatine as it is very synergistic with var, and will maximize the cycles benefits in terms of strength & size.

don't forget PCT. Var does suppress you regardless what you may have read elsewhere.

good luck.

Sounds like social anxiety. Zoloft or Paxil may help him get out of it. But I would recommend trying alternative approaches. Go to a good book store or go to socialanxiety.com and research it. Have him read the case studies @ socialanxiety.com and ask him if it describes what he is going through. If hes skinny I personaly think he should evaluate his diet first and see if he should change some things. Have him start working out if he isnt already, and what im about to say may contradict many peoples opinions but if he lacks the motivation to workout have him do something light to increase his testosterone (nothing major), maybe some tribex or some of the stronger OTC test boosters.

Also when he gets mad or feels down he probably does a certain thing whether its drinking, watching tv, sex/jerking off or something. He should try to change that habit into lifting and then he will definately succeed. (with a good diet that is)

Actually... If he does have Social Anxiety and he is skinny he wont feel confortable lifting at the gym so perhaps a 24 hour gym late at night if hes a night person or working out at home.

dude, forget the juice for now. bro needs to be on a mass program including high intensity training as heavy as poss. also, high calorie diet. it sounds like genetics might be between your bro and thick muscle but anyone can put on "some" size. he may just have to work harder to do it. oh and dude easy on the A bombs...they will work for virtually everyone!...lol....later bro
