I always raise the seat just to spite them. Not that I've had a woman to spite anytime in the recent past...

Heck, just last night I woke up in the middle of the night and it occurred to me -- "dB, you're single, and live alone, why is your toilet seat down?" So I got up out of bed, stumbled to the bathroom, raised the seat, and went back to bed. Aren't I defiant!!!

When my bitch complained about leaving the toilet seat up, I simply walked over to the can, ripped the seat off, and smashed it over her head. "Happy now bitch!!!".

Who cares if the seat is up or down? If it's either I just move it to the position I desire....How hard is it to just put down the seat?

However since I have pets & use those bleach tabs in the tank, I prefer to keep the seat/lid down so the pets don't drink the water.....

i put the seat and lid down just out of habit. it keeps the dogs from drinking out of the toilet. no, they havn't figured out how to open it yet and i hope they never do.

i figure if you put the lid down, they've got nothing to bitch about. if they try it, tell them they are lazy and learn to lift the lid. if they don't put the lid down, yell at them for it. why should we cater to them just because they have to squat to pee?

How hard is it to put it up when you're done? My pets lick their own asses, so the water in the toilet just cleanses their palate.

You sit down without looking at the seat just prior? You could be sitting on a cactus atop a bee hive someone placed on your toilet.

I always look at the toilet seat before I sit. I don't want to sit in the piss of some dinner guest who was too lazy to put the toilet seat up.

Now that's just nasty!! Yuck!

The only time I don't look is in the middle of the night sometimes when I'm still asleep.....but then the lid & seat are usually down....

If your at my house, I'd appreciate the seat down...when I come to your house and you want it up, then fine...I'd really not be very happy in sitting in anyones pee...no need to nag, just be considerate of others...
