Do you think sinusitis is a valid reason to miss work?

If I don't feel good, I hate being around people. I miss maybe one day a year and it's usually because of upset stomach.

No. I won't usually even miss work if I'm throwing up sick. I just go in at 6 or 630 and stay until they send me home.

not officially yet and at this rate maybe not at all.

I missed 2 days last week and prob miss 2 this week.

Started antibotic treatments today ... hope that works.

if you really have sinusitus just cough up some blood on a napkin and then nonchalanty leave it on the table for your stupid ass boss to see.. sinusitus is no joke.. and super contagious..

You must spread some Karma around before giving it to Phaded again.

Thanks I didn't know it was contagious.

The google search (sinusitus + contagious) states that acute sinusis is NOT contagious.

it is here. I've been taking antibiotics for three days (green thick stuff + blood was coming out of my nose all the time). Started to come out of my eyes too (I know how this sounds).

To make it worse, the pressure pinched a nerve on my upper jaw leaving with no sensitivity on the entire right side of my face. Try that once.

I started a new treatment today with a nose+ear+throat Dr, they did some Ultrasound tests, confirmed all the sinuses are plugged shut and shot me an antibiotic cocktail straight in the vein. I have to go tomorrow and the day after tomorrow for the next dosage. Krankgeschrieben the whole week.

Not to mention I do feel like shit

A sinus infection can become serious if not treated properly. You should at least stay home until youve been on the Antibiotics for a 24 hr period or so.

I think that it should depend on your symtoms and the severity of it.Also what anti biotics are you on?
If your boss is being an ass the next best thing is to show up sick to prove that you are really ill, either that or get him a physicians note stating that u should be resting

why is the selection of antibiotics important? Obviously, one takes whatever is prescribed. Neither me nor my Manager are in a position to tell absolutely anything against or in favor of the treatment?

Or do you expect the manager to say something like "Nehhh, that is some BS antibiotics, take this one instead and come to work, you will be up and running in notime" I'm happy shit works differently here, since the insurance pays my salary while I'm sick, companies have normally no issue with employees getting the rest they need to be back in 100% mode.

some anti biotics require a 24 hour wait period, also some anti biotics make you groggy and some say that you shouldnt drive etc.....got it???

makes no difference, if you are sick, you are sick, no need to beat around the bush

yes but by the sounds of his boss he may need to show reason

that is why you go to the Dr instead of simply staying home and willing it to go away, once you go the Dr you ask for a report where it says you are sick and the recommended (or mandatory as in my case) rest time. Over here they don't even need to write down the cause, the form simply says "xxxxx cannot work due to sickness in the period from xxxxx to xxxxx "

no company can turn that down.

yes. if it hinders your overall wellbeing, chances are it ihnders your productivity, and so staying at work to fulfil some idiot "work ethic" is false economy, and a horrible way to live. when youre sick, support your body via food, sleep, comfort, and drugs where appropriate, and your body will support you when you need to work.

Yo, they took me out of the Chlarithromycin as "the antibiotic is good, but is not what you need for this"

Now I'm doing a combo of Cipro/Mefoxicitin - Soludecortin, 3 days in a row, intravenous

Will this cycle make me jacked?
