Do you think America's security is any better

or is it ineffective paranoia?
I haven't done any travelling recently, but a few friends have said the gate security just acts tougher but isn't any more thorough.
There's an article on the InfoWar site http://www.iwar.org.uk/cip/resources/forno/nerf.htm , the author claims it's increased security basically from 9 to 5, for good PR.
Do you feel any safer?

safety is a myth. we are never going to be 100% safe. but life goes on I guess.

I think there are people behind the scenes working non stop to fight terrorism. however, eventually we will become relaxed again, and another foe will strike. That's just how it goes. I'm sure everyone is going to disagree, but that's just my opinion.

Big props to the FBI and CIA as well as local police for trying their best, but y'all should remember to keep asking questions too. No point in airport security if their guns ain't loaded.

The heightened levels of security are good.

The new procedures at airports do not accomplish much at all. If they were serious about security they'd ban carry-on luggage and provide secure, federated areas for flight attendants and pilots.

They don't want to spend the money to make all of the airports safe, but Reagan International has unbelievable security measure right now.

That big bluff was just to appease the fears of the nation.....obviously it isn't working.....nobody is flying unless they absolutely have to. They think the majority of us are stupid.

It is a joke and mostly ineffective, but the chances of anything happening to you personally is slim to none. As long as the heat is put on the terrorists they will have a harder time to plan and carry out an attack. But the best weapon you have is your own instincts. If you see a Uhaul truck stop and park in front of a federal building and the driver is chanting "Praise Allah!", it might be a good idea to turn around and go another way to your destination.

I have no problem with that Nature Boy, but if we're going to be taxed to hell and back, and not get anything from the government agencies that are PAID big fat salaries to do it, cut my fuking taxes! The first thing I'd do would be to close the borders to those coming in. This visa shit isn't working, and the immigration offices (gov), don't give a fuck who they let in. Shut that down, and have all aliens bring in their paperwork/visa immediately. Those who don't, face immediate deportation, I mean within 24 hrs. No delays, no grace period.

Put the FBI, CIA, and other agencies on Border Patrol duty, since they have so much experience, man the borders.
