Do you prefer "British" or "American" spelling?

"British" spelling such as:
recognise, realise, etc... replacing the Z with an S

Also-
colour, and so on, adding a U

Or do you prefer the good old American way to do things?

Have you actually read this board?? If so you could tell that most here are illiterate in either country!

The British don't replace anything, Americans have done any replacing, and it's not the 'good old American way to do things' the British way is the good and old way. So there.

I never knew there was a difference between the two. I cant even spell in english anymore anyways. I know spanish, portugues, and a little italian, and I cant spell in any of those languages either.

Heh.....when I post on a message board which is mostly American, I usually spell the American way so as to not receive any of those stupid spell checker responses.:p

the words ARE spelt recognise, realise etc.....the language is ENGLISH! american english is just what dialect you refer to someone who refuses to spell properly :D

do americans actually spell recognise 'recognize'?

I think the word "colour" is pretty cool because the band Living Colour spelled it that way. Now if the group Color Me Badd spelled it "Colour Me Badd" they'd still be around today making hit after hit.

excuse me, its not replacing the z with an s or adding a u to colour.

you must remember our way was here first. its you guys that have put a z in and removed the s and its you guys who have taken the u out of colour.

and you mean the good old english way.. America is not that old.

just thought i would point out the truth.
