Do you make a grocery list?

yeah, usually. i write things down as i realize or remember that I need them or will be needing them. that way i wont forget. i always stray from the list though

so if you are trying out a new recipe for something you have never made and forget an ingredient in the market you really didn't need that ingredient?

I'm pretty basic with recipes........

I already have most of the ingredients on hand, so the few remaining things I need I can remember.

I'm not an intricate person, Killah.......

Most of my meals revolve around steak or chicken.........I DON'T DO PASTA!

I don't make a list, I just go through the house and see what we're running low on. If I'm making something new, I'll write down what I need but that's about the only time I make any form of a list. I walk through the store and plan what I'm going to cook during the week and pick up stuff that I know I'll need to do that.

Nah.....the only canned foods I eat are soup (Cambell's Clam Chowder).

Other than that I usually buy boneless chicken breasts in bulk, seperate and freeze them for future meals.

Same with flank steak. Buy it by the case.

By "basic" I mean the meals are like flank steak w/ brown rice and broccoli.

Grilled chicken breasts w/ mashed potatoes and salad.

Nah, I have the same route through the store every time, and I buy the exact same things every time. Enough to last me a week. When bulking I just buy more of the same stuff.

The way my mind works is: if I can't remember it, then it wasn't really all that important anyway. There's no turning back, no going back to the grocery store.

nope dont make one... my list is easy... chicken, steak, rice, eggs, milk (whole) and some sauces... also if i find some goodies along the way i might grab them...
 
Using the last of something and not putting it on the store list
was a major "Bitch at the Y_Lifter" item back when I first got married..

what do guys do if say you have a meeting and it's smack in the middle of meal#3? Your biggest meal of the day?
 
Yeah, pretty much I do..... when I run out of something I write it down on the magnetic list on the fridge.....

Otherwise I go thru the grocery store ad weekly & buy what's on sale -- preferably also with coupons so I get it really cheap. Then I store it in my bunker, basement pantry, upright freezer or fridge/freezer combo. I have a lot of storage space......

I may be getting a freezer to store extra stuff. woohoo That would cut down on the trips for chicken and steak.

I like having extra shelf space for grocery items so I don't have to go that often and replace items.

I hope you're steaming those frozed veggies ... that way you won't waste most of the nutrients ;)

I usually microwave them for a couple of minutes.....not too concerned about it....

I keep the basis in my head and write down the only things I really don't want to forget and which I don't buy on a regular basis
