Do you ever get too stressed out to work out?

I've got too much on my plate right now. Can't get in the frame of miind to work out. Hope it doesn't last long, because I do the heavy duty workout. Only twice a week. I'm gonnna turn to flab. Nooooooooooo.

Upper day and lower day? How long does upper take you?

I switch it up. Lately, I've been doing chest, legs, shouders on Friday and back, arms on Sunday. There's no logic in it. I just work out when I can. If I miss a day, the days change. I can work out at home, but don't like to as much.

when i trained at home, my weights were nothing more than nighttime toe stubbers when i was stressed (exams etc)

the gym is my sanctuary...its just me vs the weights
 
Me never--cant get away from it, I will get stressed if I dont. Even only 10 sets on 1 bodypart I will be happy........just keep banging away- good luck! anyone have that article about Bob from T-mag?

Hey, bigbro.....

Use your stress at home as your motivation to workout.......stress and anger/frustration should feed your fury in the gym. Think about the shit that angers you and focus on that when you are lifting. Pour out all your anger in to your reps and sets......use that shit to build you up and tear it all down, thus when you get home you'll have the proper mindstate to lay down the rules of the house and make them succumb to your WILL and FURY!!!!!

I agree...use this stuff as motivation to get into the gym so you can release all that stress. You need that release so you can think clearly and operate as normally as possible. Good Luck!
 
Its easy for me to say, but anything that affects your central nervous system will affect your workout. However, the plus is that you have the power. Remember, you don't go from being a good athlete to a crap one over night. Losing your form takes effort in the manner of dodging the gym. Don't be afraid to drop your workout load to maybe 75% of previous volume for a couple of weeks and I guarenteed you'll get right back into it and that you'll come back an even better athlete both mentally and physically. Had a few problems a few months ago and it affected me, but glad I took my buddy's advice above...

good advice chicken nugget.
there's been times when i'm too busy and stressed to get a good workout in- all i can think about is all i have to do, but usually, i use stress to fuel my workout. i get mad at the weights and i push them harder.
 
I find that the second best way to relieve stress is a good hard body pounding workout. ESPECIALLY legs. When I find I"m more stressed, I make a concerted effort to be to the gym more, even for 1/2 hour for some supersets.

:qt: thanks hon. i'm not so cute when i'm lifting. in fact, i lose all feminism, swearing at the weights and sweating and not caring what i look like.
its my stress reliever so i'm happy and pleasant the rest of the day.
sometimes, more pleasant than others. :spatts:

That's how you should look when you are lifting.......it's a great segway in to fucking....

Biteme you need to get out and just walk when you don't feel like lifting.
It will get your blood and endorphins going!

Take your daughter with you and you two can enjoy being out doors together.
 
Ive been in this slump lately,only hitting it 2 times a week because so much is goin on I cant concentrate

hopefully you get outta it soon,Im 3 weeks into this shit and just started a cycle 3 weeks ago
