Do you celebrate Halloween?

SoKlueles

I love Mava
Platinum
I do, and i put my punkin outside with all my decorations out today

I think Halloween is what you make out of it

my parents didn't let me celebrate it growing up.. being strict christians they though the holiday is not christian.. they wouldn't even pass out candy.

Halloween is my favorite holiday. Is it even considered a holiday? I won't be passing out any candy this year, which is a first in ages. I hope I don't come back home to find eggs all over the outside of my house. :worried:

Technically, no......

When I worked, the last day of every month was "month end" which meant someone had to stay till 8pm. So I always got 4 hours of OT cuz I stayed.....

And in my neighborhood the kids only go out for candy till 7pm....so I just stopped....

we were discussing this holiday at work and i was shocked at how many ppl didnt celebrate it because they thought it was a devils holiday

It was weird, but all the black people I had worked with didn't do Halloween either....not sure what their religion was either....said the same thing about the devil's holiday....

Which technically, that's what Halloween was created for.... the Celts believed that All Hallow's Eve was the night that the spirirts of the dead walked the earth looking for a human's body to take over...the costumes were to "scare" the spirit away, same with the Jack O Lantern and the candy was to "distract" the spirits from try to take over live souls....

ummm. It is a holiday or an occasion?

I think it's just an ocassion. Whatever it is, it's the best celebration of the year in some ways. I love the spooky side of Halloween, dressing up, going to hunted houses, and watching horror movies. It's really close to my birthday too.

exactly whta she said

except its not close to my bd

I never did as a kid. Now that I have kids, I take them out trick or treating. Why? There's some teeny boppers down the street who do a Britney impression each year while giving out candy.

When I went trick or treating last year with my neightbour, we both stood awe struck.

So, I figure that the kids get something and the dads get somthing.

It's my favorite day of the year too, even better than my bday.

Are you still going to New Orleans?

considering my entire family is irish fuck ya,this is our holiday dammit

I dont buy into its the devil bullshit, and I def get right into it, one year I want to plan out a big scary thing at my place to scare all the kids who come

I celebrate it, but since I don't have a family of my own, I'll probably hit up the goth/Industrial club since they always have a bash on Halloween. Eventually after I get married and settle down I'll do the typical Halloween Holiday thang, pass out candy, etc.....
