Do we really need all that water? (new article say NO!)

Hey YO! On the Clark Howard show they had this to say (attention to last sentence):

We all take it as a given that we’re supposed to drink a lot of water every day for our health. Well, leave it to the Wall Street Journal to challenge the truth of that. A recent WSJ article says that the “eight glass a day” rule comes from the bottled water industry and really holds no water. A panel from the National Academy of Sciences will issue a report in the winter about what is the truth. In addition, nutritionists are even questioning whether coffees and colas dehydrate us as has been reported. They say people should drink when they are thirsty, and that’s all the water you need. This is the opposite of what we’ve been taught, especially regarding exercise.
 
bullshiat. its been proven time and again that to add max muscle or retain max muscle you should be sure to be totally hydrated all times. water retention as well....
 
1] you NEED lots of water when you eat much protein
2] also for water retention
3] because you sweat a lot while training (I hope so)
3] try to drink lots of coffe/cokes and see if it is not diuretic !
 
I just posted it, I don't agree with it....It was to point out that THESE people don't really know what is going on. You pay them enough money and they will tell you anything.

I am waiting for Steroids to be legal again...either that or ProH are gone. It all depends on the time and who is against your cause.
 
its not even a firm theory.
They say its sufficient to drink when your thirsty.

sufficient for what? survival? sure. serious exercise progress ? hell no.

also whats thirst? when your tongue isn`t floating around in your mouth for a moment? OR when your lips form threads when you open your mouth?
