Do Pro BB'ers LIE about their weight?

I thought all women lied about their weight. Check out Playboy Playmates and you'll see some downright fiction!

My God. I don't have a clue. I'm 5'7, 140 and I'm not a very big person.

Fro-- I agree. I see weights listed in playboy etc of girls my height and rember back to how 110 looked on my frame....it's waify. Really sickly looking. There's no way a taller girl can be 106 pounds and look curvey. Just not gonna happen.

I think Bikinimom posted something about this once...

Seems like if you want to do modeling, you have to lie, cos when they look at your resume or whatever, even if you're sitting right there in front of them looking cut to shreds, if they read 150 or whatever on the piece of paper, you're out of there. And if you aren't in front of them, forget it.

Can I ask your height and weight VDL? I'd love to know what someone so deliciously ripped as you weighs at your height...

Wyst

Yes, Voodoo and Wyst.... SAD BUT TRUE.

Anyone who is "in the know".. WILL KNOW, but to Jon and Johnna Q Public, those that live and die by the number on the scale...(get it, they are clueless)... it is a turn-off to see THE REAL NUMBERS.

Ah well, what is a body to do?

LIE OUR ASSES OFF!! :lmao:

j/k

It's a little frustrating because I want to know the real stats for comparing my progress and planning for what I want my physique to look like. Know what I mean?

Oh well..

VDL

The "real numbers" Funny way to put it. My girl is about 5'6" and about 135 lbs (I think she told me). And she wears a size 4! She's tiny.

I think you guys are right in that people just want to hear the 100-115 lbs range no matter what.

TRUST ME on this one... I heard it from MORE than one mag editor's mouth... "We can't post that as your REAL weight - people will think you are fat."

Can you guys see the irony here? I mean, HELLO! MY PIC IS RIGHT THERE!!! But as I said, "Those IN THE KNOW - KNOW" Regardless of how "muslce-geared" the mags are, there is still a large percentage of "mainstream - fitness minded people" that plunk down the money to buy the publications and the products that are advertised in them.

It isn't like at a competition... there, the numbers mean something, but then again - THOSE PEOPLE KNOW! hehehehe

Voodoo Lady - as you become more knowledgeable (not saying that you don't ALREADY know A LOT!) and exposed to more people "in the know" - this will be much easier for you to do. :)

VDL - who is that new quote from? :lmao: Oh - how many times I've thought the same thing!

Agree on the Playboy - I pitch a fit everytime I see it.... First off, women don't have TOTALLY FLAT tummies and shapley round asses & large tits naturally... NO NO NO! We're not built like that.

But they are usually posted as 5'7", 115-
Um, yeah, maybe if you cut off those fake tits & an arm!

It's really a shame that the BBer's can't spread truth :(

Funny, I don't consider any of those weights to be unrealistic for a contest ready fitness physique of those heights. Think about bodybuilding competitors.....heavy weight categories start at 57 kg, and I'm 5'5" and have always managed to weigh in less than that (though I carb up to more than that by judgement day).

Of course, in the "off" season, when fully hydrated and with a little fat on them, you bet your boots they weigh more than that.

I'm not sure that I'd know what to do with a woman who weighed 100lb......mebbe put a huge trough of food in front of her and then force feed her.

sooo true!

I don't know wbout bodybuilders..but the playboy stuff has got to be a lie..

my BF and I were looking at an issue and it said one of the girls was 5'8, 116...38-24-35...

the girl had a great body...but there is no way her waist is 14 inches less than her chest...you could see it plain and clear in the picture...

and 116? maybe for the boobs alone...

i remember watching a show about playboy and they said that if the pics show any signs of muscle on the girls..they airbrush it away....what a shame!!!

I hardly ever catch any TV but when I do I watch E! and they always have something or other about Playboy bunnies, and I'll tell you what I have seen more than a few of them and thought "SHE IS DOWN RIGHT CHUNKY!!!!!!" I would even use the word "CHUBBY" for some of them. Men prefer the round full figure type whether they admit it or not.

Gladiola - like that?! I did this :spit: when I read it!!!! :lmao:

i dont care how much they weigh,,,, i just want to know how the hell the look like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i try and i try,,but i dont look anything like them :bawling: :bawling:

Um, HBG, you look great.

My wife walks around at about 110 lbs. at all of five feet tall, and I can see every one of her abs. She is talking about making the 97 pound weight class for her next meet, and we are currently arguing about it.

VDL - backin' you up here! :)

HBG - you know VDL is my sister... she told me about this site & a few weeks after I had been around here we were shopping - trying on clothes & talking about physique, etc. & somehow you came up... we both thought your bod is GREAT! Definitely looking like these ladies here :p

FYI -- one stat I heard re: boob jobs - a pair of DD's weighs about 4 lbs. Imagine having a 4 lb weight hanging off your chest being held in only by your skin or part of your pec muscle. Ow.

Maybe the implants are filled with helium? That would explain the unnatural lift, too. Maybe their asses are full of it as well?

lol yes NYM i know i have problems,,,lol but i am ooook i swear... I have you to knock me back into reality if i start to get too big:D

All the ladies featured are BEAUTIFUL....Very sad that our society has set a weight standard on what is seen as"normal" or "perfect" by some standards!

I have a cute story.... The last time I went to the DMV to get my driver's license renewed, the girl at the DMV made a typo! In the weight section she put I weighed 450 lbs. !!!!

I have a lot of fun with it if someone notices it when they ask for my I.D.!

funny thread. i'm skinny as we all can agree... at 5'5" on a good day and no boobies to speak of... and i'm at 115 lbs..

it's too bad they continue to lie instead of finding a way to break these moulds.

and hbg you look fantastic.. don't doubt yourself.

I agree! I think MOST guys like soft women. I've had lots og guys LUV the very parts of my body I HATED the most! ugh! Thank god I'm gettin hard allllll over now. ;)

I'll tell my tale from yesterday. As I've shared already w/ the board, I am looking into breast implants since they've vanished from training. I went for a surgeon consult and had on one of those billowy medical gowns that opens in the front but covers everything else.

The dr. was looking at the area in question and saw the little bony area between my breasts (or pec muscles rather, since there's really nothing else other than nipples) He said "You should gain 5-10 pounds, that would help. (I was thinking Gee Doc, if I did that I wouldn't even need to be here...and besides it'd all go to my thighs anyway! )

He asked "How tall are you and much do you weigh?" I told him 5'5" and @125, and he said "No way." I said well, I'm sort of muscular, I really do weigh that. Not convinced, he pinched my tricep with calipers. Then he said "Wow, you're really lean, but 125?..." Then I pulled up the robe sleeve and flexed my bicep (not something I do very often-or ever up til now, but I had to prove the point of this thread). Then he said "Holy Toledo, you DO have muscle!" :D

I would have thrown on my gown and left the building..anyone thar stupid should not be cutting on you doll!

I didn't think the women in the pictures looked that much different to the weights they were claimed to be... maybe #2 was stretching the truth a bit but the others looked about right to me. But then again, I'm crap at guessing ppl's weights. What weight do you think the woman in pic # 3 weighs? I wouldn't mind looking like her :p

I'm honestly surprised that some of you think the weights are accurate! I mean downright shocked!

I'm using 2 simple principles to gauge the accuracy of their claims.

1) Direct visual comparison to my picture.....I don't think any of you would argue that these women have more muscle mass than me, right  ...I weigh 126ish at 5'4".....

and.....

2) Muscle weighs more than fat.

So I just cannot fathom how this woman weighs 126 (meaning the SAME WEIGHT AS ME)

VD im not agreeing that these woman say they are the weight they claim,,,,,

but lets say a girl who was 5'2 weighing 126 lbs of pure muscle,,she is going to look huge compared to soneone who is 5'6 or 5'8 thats why its easier for shorter girls and guys for that matter to look bigger.

But the girls in the pics are no where near what they have stated.

VDL, one thing that springs to mind is that you seem to have a narrow frame. From your pics your shoulders do not appear to be that wide at all (I am referring to bone structure). The little bit I could see of your hips* from your other pics did not indicate a great deal of width there either. Many of the women I coach (all heavy events such as women's field events, PL and OL) are surprisingly heavy for their weight. Most of the ones who do well are rather wide for their height, without being fat. The exception being a couple of the OL'ers.

If you do not feel that you weigh enough, start hanging around with more powerlifters. You will learn what it is like to plan your weekly meal schedule around all-you-can-eat buffets.

*Note, I passed up the obvious opportunity to request a booty shot under the guise of juding your width here. You should be in awe of my self-discipline. I personally am quite amazed.

He's not doing my surgery, but not because of this. I'd already picked my doc (surg is March 7), but still had this consultation scheduled from earlier (they kept rescheduling), so I went anyway.

Figured it couldn't hurt, it was free, and I could pick his brain. I got a bad feeling about this guy when he first walked in the room. He acted all rushed, and a bit cocky, so I deliberated asked and re-asked lots of questions.

It definitely reconfirmed my confidence in the doc I picked though.

Keep us posted on the process, if you wouldn't mind FF, I am seriously considering the proceedure myself...

VD, I entirely agree with ya. No one is listening. Those women's weights are realistic for their height and build and level of bodyfat/hydration. It is ridiculous to think that they actually weighed much more than that at the time the photos were taken. I'm not sure what this thread is about, but there's a big difference in weight between a female that's contest ready, and the same woman that's 16-18%% bodyfat and fully hydrated.

This thread is about me dead set on gaining weight in hopes of one day competing....then I look at these RIPPED women, with these LOW WEIGHTS and I'm suddenly feeling like a cow.

But your point about these women having no bf or water is well taken.

Thanks :)

PS: Heya Smalls!

you are all forgetting, how many times u seen that unbelievable guy or girl in the gym, you think he/she weighs like SOOOO much, then they tell you and you are SHOCKED its called low body fat and great muscle development.

none of you would be able to guess my weight in my pics...especially my avatar pic...guranteed.

i remember the 1st time i realized this phenominon...i was in college long time ago..and this dude was big and SHREDDED, musta had 19 inch arms, i asked him how much he weighed like 220, he said no 185! i almost flipped.

Thanks for telling me what I don't know for like the millionth time.... Oh, and what I'm thinking & what I'm forgetting...

We are all entitled to brag about our weights (whether it's a big number or a tiny number), but the true measure of a bodybuilder is the weight that they compete at when completely stage ready. Any other number is just so much fluid, fat and hot air. Who cares what the scales say anyway.....well that's what we advise women on other helpful threads. It's how you look. If you can look as good as your idol and weigh 20lbs more or 20lbs less than them, then who really cares. The only time I know where weight makes an appreciable difference is in NPC physique comps, or powerlifting.

Massive amounts of airbrushing.

A good photo editor could take any guy on here with 12-15% BF and make him look like a guy with 4-5% BF in under in a couple of hours with Photoshop.

Wow this is a fairly old thread...but VDL -- I will say that I often see the weights posted (NOT of contest pics) but of magazine shoots and have to gag everytime I see the stats ... knowing full well that they are much more than they say they are.

I quickly learned to not to believe everything I read...and since my husband HAD been in the industry for a short time, it is not different than these women spewing it is all about eating well -- and the "I have never considered steriods NOR plastic surgery to get where I am".

He gets extremely annoyed when I naively beleive that these idols I have are all 100% natural. What are they going to publish?

You know, it's not the posted weights that annoy me with some of these women - it's their published routines. In this month's Oxygen, there's another fitness competitor who only lifts with 5 and 10 lb. dumbbells and states "it's a big misconception you have to train heavy to develop a tight, lean physique."

This type of comment just pisses me off - a lot of women out there really do believe this stuff, then get frustrated and give up when they don't accomplish the results they see in the mags.

Anyway - that's my rant for the day.

BTW - the last picture VDL posted is an awesome lady from PA - she does get really tight and lean at contest, and I believe her posted weight. Onstage and in photos, she looks larger than she is - she just gets so cut up she looks immense.

She's also one of the nicest people you could hope to meet.
