Have absests in both glutes pretty bad and have to use qauds now. Do the absests have to be removed? Are they dangerous to have?

They need to be drained. Get off the internet and go to your local er. If you say they are pretty bad then you need to take care of it.

now just to clarify, they are the hard bumps that can devlop in the glutes or inj sites that can hinder further inj's right?

Correct

what the heck are you guys doing to get abscesses?

I am assuming you are a heterosexual, none of us need to no the answer to this though provoking question

I do excuse him if he is in prison

No an abcess is an INFECTION not a lump. You can get lumps where you inject because you are injecting oil into a muscle. If it is red, painful, growing exponentially, and develops a white head or red streaks coming from it, it is an abcess. They have to be I and D'd. That mean incision and drainage. The puss inside become hard and has to be broken up by digging around in there. Kind of a painful procedure. It is sometimes packed with Iodaform gauze so that they can heal from the inside out. You have to take antibiotics otherwise it will just come back. We do these at the ER all the time becuase there is a lot of MRSA floating around out there now, which is an antibiotic resistant staph infection.

Do you mean the bump you get from injecting... or a ball that is hot, and sore to the touch?

No, the bumps are not sore at all. There are bumps that feel like cartilage or hard tissue when I inject. It is hard to push through them sometimes. I have reverted to quads. If I feel the glute it feels like a lump of hard tissue inside. So there is no soreness AT ALL. no redness or anything likt that. Its just a pain in the butt to inject no pun intended

If you have injected in your glute for many years, you might just have a lot of scar tissue. I notice now that my glutes are a little harder to inject than they were a couple years ago. Seem tougher to get in with the needle.

An abscess is a pocket of infection.
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001353.htm

They are dangerous and must be treated. This treatment takes many forms from a simple draining with antibotics taken orally for 10 days to removal by surgery.

You also must review your injection procedure and discover and eliminate the cause of this problem.

exactly!! I've been injecting for about 18 years. So its just scar tissue then?? So I can continues the glute injections and just push past the hard stuff in the glutes??

um ok, thats not right. I could be bad gear not being sterile to high ba content or spot you injected.

I am assuming gear is fine. my buddy got an abscess few years ago, turns out he was flicking the needle to get bubbles out like on the movies, of course we don't touch the needle, bacteria got in and infected him. bca21, I do hear you though.

Dudes, this post is exactly why steroids should not be given to children!

First off figure out how to spell the condition abscess! Secondly, research before you go jamming a needle in every body part you have!

THIS IS FUCKING SCARY AND BETTER BE A BAD JOKE!

'nuff said.

abcesses are very painfull, very swollen and tender, large, hot areas that develop a few days post injection. They need to be drained and given anti-Bs....in many cases also lanced and packed becasue the abcess actually ends up being like a big shell with diminished access to the vasculature.....anti-bs may end up not getting in there in great enough quantity so you may need to clean it from the inside out (lance and pack)....if you have abcesses (plural) you wouldnt be typing about it, youd be in serious pain and illness (more than one abcess will have you in the ER, they are no joke) and seeking medical help.

I've had my whole ass-cheek swolen, hard, red, and hot after injecting test-e 300...3 to 5 days of my old lady rubbing it hard with a hot, wet towel heated up in the microwave, and I was good as new... :)

You should be ok then... if it isn't sore, and you don't have a fever... :)
