And how would they know he was only using 600mgs if he died? Did he keep a frikking log and hand it to his parents? This is garbage. I doubt he knew what the f--k he was doing.

ALBANY, NY, August 10, 2001-- State Health Commissioner Antonia C. Novello today warned against the use of products containing Dinitrophenols or DNP as a supplement for weight loss. The warning results from a report to the Department's Pesticide Poisoning Registry on the recent death of a Long Island resident who had reportedly used DNP for four days.
The young man's death was reported to the State Health Department by the Long Island Poison Control Center, which indicated that the individual apparently ingested 600 milligrams of DNP a day for four days.
DNP is an agricultural pesticide (a herbicide) that is not registered for use in New York State. According to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, it was sold in the 1930's in diet pills but was banned in 1938 because of severe health effects. Dinitrophenols are toxic to the liver, kidney and nervous system. The chemical causes hyperthermia (increased body temperature), dehydration, tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), restlessness and manic behavior and convulsions which typically signify an immediate lift-threatening intoxication. There are anecdotal reports of other deaths from DNP as a weight loss supplement.
Although DNP use in diet pills was banned in 1938, it is currently being marketed and used by body builders, and is also advertised and marketed on the Internet. The extent of its use is unknown at this time.
The State Health Department has contacted the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to explore ways to warn consumers about the dangers of DNP and to dissuade its further use.

psych this is real....the victim reported this prior to his death to the er doc. and yes his parents did take him in...and were there when he died!!!! But you miss the point..........DNP is a deadly chemical used to kill ergo a pesticide.......riddle me this psycho ..........is it sold at Golds GYm ? At GNC? KMART, WALMART, Riteaide, CVS...if it was legit ...would it be? C'mon man there have to be other ways to cut!!!!!

I have decided to never use DNP, but if I did I would certainly not start with a dose of 600 mg a day. It is a shame that people die from misinformation or stupidity.
I am sure that the Feds will be cracking down on DNP now as if it is a felony to possess or sell.
Hmmmm... It seems a lot of people have lost their lives from alcohol poison, but I guess that is OK.

How do you know so much about this? Living on the Island I know there were no obituaries the last few weeks about a kid dying, let alone dying from "the ever so lethal DNP." Was this a friend of yours?

i apologize for my ignorance about dnp use.....tex...understand that all I am saying is it IS dangerous...and i guess if it was legal to take it......precribed like asprin, one would know exactly what dosage to take...but it isn't is it? As I sit here and read the comments I don't want to make this personal but Tex I truly am ashamed of your ignorance

There has got to be a better way...to cut...Why does it have to be done so quickly, really so dangerously? All the comments here alot of people say how lousy they feel after going thru a course of this? It takes 10-14 days ...to recover geez!!!But it confuses me because you all want the perfect body...but yet are willing to take poisons to get there. I don't get it.....I understand if you win a competition but man............the risks, is the payoff worth it? And most importantly Psycho, if people are going to do it...as it seems alot are, as much as I hate to say this........it needs to be regulated so that others don't od on this shit.........that's all I am saying. Can you understand that?

Why avoid the "whats your interest here" question?
I've done it three times. I'm currently doing it. I got stuck doing it in the middle of the 100-degree week here in NY. Today is my 5th day. I sweat but that's to be expected. It seems the only ignorant person here is the person that OD'd doing it. Read all the warnings, read the list of suggested supplements to takle and precautions to take...I haven't heard of any EF bros' dying from the shit. Why not? Why this person?

You really don't od on dnp, unless you just act dumb and take 1000 mg at once. The way you die from dnp is underdosing on precaution/inteligence.
If you aren't taking the suggest vitamins, and especially drinking the water and staying away from stuff to physically challenging then your fine. Been on 600 mg a day for the last 3 days out in the weather occasionally, and been to a few church functions just fine.
Its when you get the I'm smarter than this drug and tougher than everyone on the net, I'm gonna do 1200 mg and drink coffee all day bravado that people die. Just like you get idiots who say I can drink 2 fiths of Jack and drive I've been driving since I was 16 and they wreck, die and take others with them. Would you blame the car? I mean how stupid can we be, driving around 2 tons of flying steel thats SO deadly.

We,as humans,fear that which we do not understand...Ignorance kills,not DNP...Used in the hands of a responsible individual who has educated himself to no end on it's mechanisms and proper administration,it is a very effective dieting tool which nothing else on the planet can touch...Don't listen to someone else's hype and propeganda,go and do your own research on it....You will find that it is not nearly as volatile as the uneducated media would have you believed when used responsibly...
